Hello,
I've been looking into Coastal for a few weeks now. I would love to join, but would like to have a caring Sponsor and not just for the first 2 leads. Are there any Training meetings offered in certain cities? How does it work Tax wise? Any tax advantages? I've heard, that the website would be each month $49.95 ......is there a cheaper way? Also I would be self employed, right? How can I call this kind of job..........being a Recruiter? Many questions, but I hope someone out there is willing to help someone lost
Thanks.

Hi TravelingCoastal,
It's good to see that you are taking your time and doing your research. I am guessing that the website you are talking about is for the Call Center I am part of. Our backoffice and marketing website does cost $49.95 a month but it is worth so much more than that because there are hours and hours of recorded training calls that are available to listen to and instructional videos and lots of other training tools plus you can keep track of who is opting into your marketing site, see how many times they visit your site, see their contact info and you can see if they have called the call center and if they decided to signup or not. The professionals make notes in the back office on how the call goes and if they need to make follow up calls they will and finally they will close the sale for you. That is the BEST thing about the call center is that we just advertise and they do all of the heavy lifting by presenting the business to the prospect, doing follow up calls in they need to and then closing the sale and getting the money. Then they send out a check immediately. No waiting until the end of the month or every two weeks. You get a sale, you get a check. In some cases you get the money first and send the call center their part after you get yours.

One other thing the we take pride in at the call center is that we value all of our members even after they are qualified. I have been qualified for several months now and my director is the top selling director in the Coastal business and I can call him, email him and chat with him pretty much anytime I need to. We all know that if you are a good member who is working the business and making sales then you are good for the whole Call center family because you will be setting an example for the world to see which brings more business to all of us. You will not be left in the dark with us. I just got an email from someone who joined Coastal about a month ago. He didn't join through the call center but he saw my website and opted in to start receiving the autoresponder messages. I saw that he was coming to my website and called and emailed him to see if I could answer any questions. He sent me an email saying that he has only heard from his director one time throug email. No calls or anything else. He now has a bad taste in his mouth about Coastal and homebased business in general because his director didn't contact him and start training him. Our team would not let this happen. If I couldn't do your training, for some reason, I would contact my director and have him do it and let him have the commissions or I would work it out some how so that you would get trained.

There are several good teams in Coastal Vacations and it's very improtant to get into one of them. Our call center is the original call center and we are the TOP selling Coastal Team. The Coastal Synergy Group is a good team that does Coastal the traditional way by buying leads and calling them to make sales. They are VERY good at this method. Jay Napier has another VERY successful team. You have probably seen some of these names while doing your research so finding the team that fits you best is the most important thing.

If you do decide that the call center is right for you, let me suggest you go to one of two websites to investigate it. Both of these site belong to women who are on this forum and both signed up under me in Coastal Vacations.

Susan Eng- [Link removed - Admin]

or

Dawn Orbeck- [Link removed - Admin]

Both ladies are in the process of qualifying and if you joined at level 2 you would be one of their qualifying sales which means you would get sent up to me. If you join at level 1 you would be on their team and have access to me and therefore my director in addition to having their extensive help also. You win either way and so do we all. We are one big family at the call center and if I want to help my new members get qualified as soon as possible and if that means sending someone to their site instead of mine then that's completely OK with me. If you have questions please feel free to email me at [email protected] or go to one of the websites I listed above and enter your contact info and you will receive an email instantly from one of them. Then you can email them back with questions or you can just call the call center and use one of their member IDs which you will find on their websites. I hope this answers some of your questions.

If for some reason the mods delete the links in the previous post, you can find their websites buy looking for the members "susaneng" and "dawnmo" in the coastal vacations section of this forum. I'm not dissing the mods on this forum. It is run VERY well and I should know because I am an admin on another forum and it can be a REAL PAIN sometimes. Links do have to be deleted sometimes. It's just hard to know when they are allowed and when they aren't.

Hi there, my name is Lora and I have been in Coastal for about a year and a half now. Congratulations on taking a closer look to see if this is for you! I would love to answer your questions for you...

As far as what you call yourself, I guess that depends on how you work your business. When people ask me this is how I explain it...I am a home business builder and trainer for a travel organization. If you just want to do it retail you could say that you market travel packages.

This is not a job, it is a business. So yes, you would be self employed. You would own your very own business which comes with MANY tax advantages. There are some very good books out there that explain all the tax stuff.

As far as websites go, there are many different groups within Coastal. (The main difference in the groups is the support and training that is offered.) Each group that offers a website(s) offers something different. Because of that the prices do vary, usually anywhere from $50 to $100 per month. Our group has a deal with the website people; we get $10 per month back for each person that sets up a website through us. That means that after you get a few people started you no longer have that expense. I do know that some of the other groups also have the website affiliate commission.

I know this is a lot of information. I would suggest going to a few Q&A calls and asking these questions there since it does vary between the different groups. Also, the director that you are talking to should be able to give you an idea of the specific tax advantages. The best way to find out about your specific tax advantages is to talk to a local tax advisor.

Hope this helps!

Lora

Hello and welcome to the forum! I am the 'dawnmo' that Harold so graciously referred to in the post above.

There are definately different ways to build the business and different teams that lean one way or another.

In general, there is traditional building which includes (but is not limited to) online and offline advertising and calling, following up with and closing leads. (Coastal Synergy Group and Wealthbuilders are good examples of this. I believe Lora is with Wealthbuilders and I have heard that their training is excellent.)

Secondly, there is the option of using a Call Center to talk to your leads after you have attracted them to the business via online and offline advertising. You also have the option to build your business the traditional way. The call center also has great training available to you.

Feel free to post any questions you have here or contact any of us and we will point you in the right direction. It is a big decision and one that should not be taken lightly, so take your time.

Good luck!

Dawn

Thanks

Coastal Vacations is the "Mother Ship" so to speak. We are all members of Coastal Vacations and we belong to different groups who market the Coastal Vacations product and business opportunity. Dawn, Susan and I are part of the WeCloseYourSales.com call center which closes our sales for us. PNLTravel is with Coastal Wealth Builders which is another group or team that works together, training their members and they close the new members themselves which is the way most Coastal businesses do it. We all use websites to do most of the explaining and hopfully, after a person sees one of our sites they will have a full explanation of how Coastal works with whatever marketing system the website is associated with. We all have great systems. The key is finding the one that works best for you and you need to determine if you are a person that wants to make the sale yourself or let the call center do it for you. Some people are VERY good at selling and don't need a call center like we use. Others are not good at selling at all and are really attracted to the call center concept. I would suggest researching lots of the groups and seeing which one fits your personality best. I have had great success with the call center so that's how I choose to market. Keep asking those questions. It's the best way to find which team works best for you.

Is there a differnece in the price of the website I'll need? Does coastal Vacation and WeCloseYourSales.com charge the same for the web site? Definately I would want to have the call center close my sales.

Are there any meetings coming up in the San Diego area?

Travelingcoastal,
Remember, Coastal Vacations is the product and they do have a website they offer. I think it's $90.00 a month. I'm not sure because I don't use it. If you join the call center you will have a marketing website and a training and tracking website that we call the back office. There you will get TONS of training materials and be able to see who is coming to your website and how many times they are returning to your website. The cost is $49.95 a month but it is worth WAY more than that. Please send me an email to [email protected] and include your phone number also if you want to and I will call you so you can ask any questions you like. My email again is [email protected] .

Hi travelingcoastal,

I am also doing due diligence, in depth research on coastal. Here are some things I have found that you can look at yourself. This is in no particular order of favoritism or worth. To stay with in the guidelines of this forum I will ask you to look these up using google search. You can just copy and paste and what you're looking for should be in the #1 to #5 position on the returned results page. You will have to navigate yourself into these sites, but I have found that easy. For example the first one listed below enters from a big button on the bottom of that page that says, Enter Site Now

coastal vacations official website
coa coastal network
coastal vacations call center
cwb.sharecoastalwealth
coastal vacations synergy group

Each one of these groups sells the coastal packages.

The coa coastal network has a deal for free access after 5 referrals, the cost until then is $79.95 a month. I think this is what the cwb.sharecoastalwealth (Coastal Wealth Builders) uses.

I haven't found any of the other sites free deals, though some offer bundled package items, I.E., cpu, cameras, etc.

The call center sounds like a neat resource for time crunched folks and/or people not comfortable with selling. I am still reviewing this concept and would probably research this more before I could give an unbiased statement. The cost to join is an extra $700 for the level 1 package + the $49.95 a month.

I have listened to calls, solicited information from owners in all these groups, asked many questions, and continue to research to ensure if and when I join it is with the right group and right director.

Hope that helps!
Brian

We (the Coastal WealthBuilders) actually have our own set of websites. We use a company called Versasys Networks in Canada. Our websites cost $59.95 per month and it is free after 6 people join ($10 affiliate commission per person, per month). After six you can actually make a little extra cash off of it - coffee anyone?

There are 4 websites and a back office which supplies a wealth of information. Everything from an autoresponder to recorded training calls, motivational resources, a couple e-books (one on taxes!), step-by-step instructions on building your business, call schedules for our group and the BOD, and so much more. I don't usually put specific stuff about our group on the forum, but since people are asking...

As always if anyone has any questions feel free to ask! Keep doing your research and go with what fits you the best. I hope this helps!

Lora,

Thanks for keeping me straight on that. Also thanks for the encouragement!
Is it OK if I contact you through your website with some information I would like someone to verify?

Thanks!

Absolutely! That's why I am here!

I don't want anyone to think that just because I post the answers to thier questions that I don't want to be contacted. I just don't want to be seen as begging or spamming so I don't say email me or contact me for more information in every post. Also, I think that the answers should be available to everyone. Does that make sense?

I am happy to talk to anyone about Coastal. I also understand the need to talk to someone in person about all of this, I was the same way! I really believe that this is a great opportunity and it should be shared!

I look forward to talking with you

Hi Brian,

I just want to mention. I signed up with Harold, and he has been very helpful with every step. He also let us into his sponsor's forum which is a helpful site to get further information on some of the best ways to run your Coastal business. His sponsor is one of the top performers in Coastal, so it is nice to be a part of the team. You can tell Harold and his sponsor really want people to succeed even after they have pass up their first two sales. I feel there is a lot of support here. Hope this helps you.

You will definately be self employed and will be responsible for reporting your tax info yourself or you will need to use an accountant. That means you will be able count many things off on your taxes, also.

I read some of "It's How Much You Keep That Counts!...Not How Much You Make" by authors: Ronald R. Mueller, MBA & Scott C. Turner, CPA. Then we found an accountact

That depends on your local laws, an accountant should be able to help you out with that.

Hope this helps!

Hi travelingcoastal,

I have started other home based businesses in the past, and I have never been registered as self employed since I also have a "real job"(w-2 employee), but I have been able to write off everything for the business. As this tax time rolls around I will writing off all my expenses for Coastal as well as my vacations. I have a tax person do my taxes so I know this is legal to do.

I don't have a book that I know of to read about this, but I know if you keep all your receipts that have anything to do with your business it is ripe for a write off. If you decide to incorporate you move from a sole proprietor to a corporation where you will have additional tax write offs and asset protection. I am not a tax person but I have taken several seminars on real estate investing and it works for both that and home based businesses.

My goal is to become so successful at this that I will definitely need to incorporate as I will be using my profits to invest in real estate and become financially free.

Hope this helps you out a little.

Susan

Hi Traveling Coastal,
You can run your business a couple of ways, one as a sole proprietor and the other as a corporation.
Although I'm in Canada, I know you can write off a portion of your house as a business expense which also includes your heating, hydro, car, insurance, etc etc.

I run my Coastal biz as a corporation which gives me even more reduced tax liabilities. It works the same for both countries...there is a company called Sage Int'l, out of Nevada. They offer free teleseminars every once in awhile and specialize in home business, tax strategies and more. You can call them and get on their e-mailing list to let you know when the next teleseminar is.
I've been on a couple and its helpful! 1 800 254 5779

All the best,
Roger
