One word pretty much tells it all.
DETERMINATION
Without determination 99% of all businesses would fail. I'm not big into all of the RAH RAH, cheerleading that goes on at the conferences that are all over the country. Don't get me wrong, they are a GREAT tool and I KNOW they help build people up and provide outstanding coaching and inspiration that is vital for our business but, honestly, I don't have time to go to them.
So, I have learned that pure determination is what makes a person stay up late or get up early to work his business. It's what makes us refocus on our goals when what used to work doesn't seem to work anymore.
When I am getting ready to close a sale (if I decide to do it myself since I have the call center option) I always make sure that the person understands that this business will not work itself and if they treat it like a hobby they will fail miserably. Some people just don't understand the concept of owning a business and think that these so called "Homebased Businesses" are either a scam or they only work for a select few who get lucky. In our case, BOTH of those situations are wrong.
Coastal has blown the scam lable out of the water for years because it's been around for years. Coastal has made people millions of dollars and continues to get better.
Luck doesn't play into our business either. Again, determination trumps luck everyday. If you make a sale in Coastal it is probably because you took an individual through your system and showed them the way things work and they "saw the light."
Is Coastal easy to work? Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. This is true with EVERY BUSINESS. There will be times that you will get discouraged for whatever reason. Again, this is where determination comes back in to save the day. Your decision to succeed is what must drive you. That decision must be made the day you decide to sign up with Coastal Vacations.
Personally, I put my faith is GOD to show me what I need to do and I trust him to give me the determination to continue even if something didn't go the way I wanted. It works, Folks. It really works.

Hey Harold,
Great Post.
I'd like to add "Consistent Activity" to the Determination. You've GOT to work consistently in your business. Even at 3-8 hours a week, the right system and consistent activity WILL put you where you want to be with the right system.

This is the best thread ive seen in all my time in the Work at Home Forum. In my opinion what it takes is faith and self confidence. If you have faith in this incredible product you will have the self confidence to talk about it and that will come across to your prospects. In my tenure in the CSG I was know for my testimonies. You know why? It's because I was passionate about Coastal. I had faith in the product as I used it and saw it worked. I was also self confident so that rang true from my voice. So in my opinion if you have faith and confidence you are on the road to succeeding. After having those two things you better get a good system and work it. This business is about work. Many think you can just lay back and get rich. Many do but that's not something easily duplicated. So have the faith, the self confidence and work your system consistently.

Great job Harold
I have been with coastal vacations since 2001 full time. Consistency is the key. Choose 4 or so different ways to advertise your business and do it at least 5 times per week.
I have to say the last 5 sales or so have called me directly and have joined from listings / ads they have seen on the internet. I know that sometimes it seems like a hard trek always placing ads, writing in forums etc but once you see your website listed on the first page of google, it really becomes worth all the effort you have put out.
Re-evaluation is also another tip I would add to the list. I work on my business as if it were a job and evaluate myself and my output on a daily basis...was I a good employee today?
Don't give up....there really is nothing out there that matches what coastal vacations can offer to the average person for a relatively low one time out of pocket expense.
Seriously....Nothing!

Great post Harold -how I wish I had a director such as yourself or anyone in the forum. Just have to keep coming here daily to get inspired. I was feeling a bit low and exhausted from my trip but now I will get right back into Coastal this weekend and start working the business.

Great points made by everyone here.
Judy, you have what it takes to be successful in Coastal. I see it in you every time you come to this forum...with the determination you show in your posts.
As Jay said, it really requires a consistent effort - some days will be better than others but remember you're setting yourself up for long term success.
(Many of the leaders here have been involved for several years...so we are all seeing the fruits of their early labors.)

Judy, another suggestion I have for you...since it seems you don't have a good director to go to at this point, pick one of the leaders you see here or somewhere else and follow their teachings.
I am sure any of them would be willing to help you out. It can be confusing with all the great leaders here building their businesses slightly differently.
Find someone who seems to be building in a way you think you could build - and watch and listen carefully to what they say and do. (Block some of the other stuff out until you have a handle on one or two building techniques.) Soon you will be one of the leaders that others choose to follow.

Success is relative as well. To define you success you must first define your goals. Maybe its to make enough to bring a spouse home. Maybe its to make enough to pay some bills. You must find what is your success. Secondly dont compete with others. Measure yourself by your own standards. If you can master competing against yourself you can never lose. To do this you must keep a positive mental attitude. Now that can be the most difficult but can be accomplished more readily when you dont compare yourslf to others. If you follow this simple creed you will succeed. That in my opinion is what I think it takes to succeed in Coastal.
