Hello everybody,

First off, I ought to warn you I'm completely brand-new to any kind of internet marketing. So please, bear with me and my silly questions.

I'm a college student, and recently, after looking through the help-wanted section of the newspaper for the umpteenth time, I'd pretty much resigned myself to a lifetime of scrabbling for freelance jobs, while barely keeping my head above water.

Except I really, really don't want to do that.

Then I stumbled across this Profit Lance thing. I thought that it looked really interesting. Not to mention, the fact that it seems to actually teach you useful skills looks great. However, being that I am a struggling art student, I want to know a few things before I spend any money.

Is it hard to find a good niche?
Is it possible to build it up to the equivalent of a part time or even full time job, or is it better to not get my hopes up for more than a little extra cash?
Is it a good idea to also invest in learning, say, SBI once I have the money for that?
Is Profit Lance enjoyable?
Is it something that a very shy art student can actually do?
And does it pay for itself quickly (say, within a few months)?

Here's crossing my fingers that I may have found a way to help support myself, and maybe even be my own boss in the future. And thanks in advance for any help I get.

Hi Pipsqueak,

Welcome to the forum. Don't worry, everyone is new at one point. Questions aren't silly unless they aren't asked.

It would be a good idea to read through the various posts about PL here in the forum. It will give you an idea of the ups and downs that people face using the program.

There are a few people that seem to be somewhat successful with it, but it appears the majority struggle to make sense of it and turn a profit.

It could be because so many people give up and don't go through with the research and training as they should. I don't know. It may be difficult to follow their course. (As you can tell, I don't have PL but am just basing my opinion by the comments I've read here in the forum).

I will say this - very few people are going to make a decent profit in a short amount of time. Probably the majority don't see any profit at all until several months of faithful effort. No matter what program you decide to go with for training, etc., expect that. If you are realistic going into it, you're more likely to stick it out.

I started with zero experience with anything to do with the web. I could email and that's about it.

I decided to take a chance with SBI and haven't looked back. I love the way their whole system is set up to take you step by step through the site building process. You learn what you need to know when you need to know it.

You actually DO what needs to be done as you are going through the training process. I've stuck with them because I've learned that it really works. But even with SBI, it can take a few months to start making profit. A lot depends on how much time you have to put toward building.

Regarding your questions -
1. It can be hard to find a good niche, but with the right brainstorming tools it is so much easier (included in SBI)
2. It is possible to build up a part time or full time income - if you put in the time and effort.
3. Definitely yes - invest in SBI.
4. Some people find PL enjoyable, some don't.
5. Yes, online marketing is great for shy people.
6. It CAN pay for itself within a few months, but no guarantee.

Wishing you all the best as you start your online marketing journey. You CAN do this successfully if you are persistent and tenacious.

Blessings,
Angie

Great answer!

Sometimes, it's hard to say "yes" or "no" because there are people
who are making a good bit of money while others aren't so lucky.

People read and interpret different and do things different, even
following the same instructions.

Welcome pipsqueak!
Just remember that none of us were born with a computer dangling around our neck either...

We all started from somewhere and I have discovered that many of us on here have done some trial and error till we found what was the right fit for us , which is why you will see all kinds of things on the forum that is working for folks...

There is quite a large spot for PL so you should be able to get questions answered on that.... and if you have questions about what anyone is doing, just check out the websites in their sig lines.

You don't seem to be the kind that will be afraid to ask questions and that, my friend, will take you far in your quest as you learn so much by simply asking questions!

Hi,

I am very new to internet marketing. I am stuck. I need a really baby step by step detailed instruction of how to get clickbank hoplinks to one of the websites that was set up for me when I purchased PL. This is like going from driving a car and knowing when to get the oil changed, a tune-up and changing tires to being the mechanic. I really have created lots of brochures, a book, power point presentations but have no clue how to use html or even what to do when I read directions from clickbank or some of the other free sites out there. I am so lost. I want to get started with promoting the web sites that are part of my PL package and promoting products from clickbank but I just do not understand what to do after you go to the hoplink. What do you do with it and how do you get it to your website. If I have to open a website with notepad to enter this hoplink, why don't they go on to explain how that is done? I am so confused. Can anyone out there help me? Detailed instructions would be so helpful. Thanks ahead of time.

Hello Pipsqueak,
I was in the same situation last summer.
I have not purchased Site Built It, but I love their free ebooks..I just finished one last night..a must read MYWS.
Anyway, I went with The Wealthy Affiliate University, where I have learned a lot, especially in the courses and forum.
Whatever you choose, good luck to you!
(avoid get rich programs okay?) There is no such thing.. something for nothing
