I'm wondering how many successful moms working from home are here. Any advice to aspiring moms who wish to work from home?

I'm at home mom right now since I can't leave my baby to other people, It's my choice to stay at home to take care my 4 months old baby, so what I did is joining sites that actually paying me for completing surveys/offers that really not require much time. I know it's really not much when you're doing surveys but it's added for an income. Working at home mom is a tough job since we have to balance everything, from being a mom to our kids, wife to our husband, then household chores, we have so much to do. Well, I guess, being a mommy is the most rewarding jobs

I think there are heaps of successful work at home mothers. Working from home is a lot of tougher than working in a 9 to 5 job. The main reason for working from home for most people if "flexibility". They love their freedom so much that they are willing to burn the midnight oil to be successful. Its very inspiring to read about these women.

I run two websites. I am a work at home mom as well...I have two kids. On one I interview successful work at home women and the other has asctivities for children.

Balancing being a Mom and working at home can be another juggling job that we do. Mom's are great at multi~tasking. We were created to do that! hahaha

I've just started working from home and I love it. We already are hard workers and definitely multi taskers at home, so I figured why not try working from home and seeing how it goes. I have no complaints. I wrote down my goals and I have an incredible support team that helps me achieve those goals.

I work full time 8-5 Mon-Fri for a major corporation, and also work part time at home after the kids go to bed. If you consider your "wind-down" time after they go to bed...you figure you're up anyways, so why not make money? The small amount of money I bring in from working at home is worth it when they squeal with excitement because we can go for Ice Cream as a "special treat" !

I am also a WAHM with 3 wonderful kids. It has been tough, mainly getting my opportunity out there for all to see. I looked for so long, did surveys, and offers, but they were not what I was looking for. I needed substantial income, and FINALLY I found a company that I believed in and that I could be proud of. I LOVE it. I get to work when I want, around our hecktic schedule. There is nothing better. I just want to share with everyone that there is a way to suplement your current income, and if you are determined enough, completely replace it, even exceed it. Please let me share with you what I have found. It may or may not be right for you, but I will give you all the details before you have to make any decision.

I am a Work From Home Mom with a corporate background and could not be happier. I have been lucky to find a legitimate business that gives me a good income and allows me to stay home with my 3 year old son.

Hi Rana,
I just read your post

It looks as though you have your plate full with your 9 to 5 and a new baby!
There are alot of opportunities on the net about working from home. Before you buy into any of them I'd say be sure and do your research!!!
Alot of people just want your money and then leave you high and dry!

I have four kids at home and we love to travel, so I decided to enter this field.
I own a travel business (there are alot of these on the net also)
The one I am associated with has been doing business for over 1[/b[b]]3 years and has a very lucrative pay plan. Click on my signature link and this will explain the business to you.

I have recently come across a business that is free to join, helps out a worthy cause and I get paid to shop.
The concept is brillant!
I'll email you a link.

Cheers to you and your new baby!
Cindy

I currently work a fulltime job. I have just had a baby and want to stay at home now to spend more time with my 3 yr old son and my new daughter. I just started an online home based job and hope to soon be able to leave my fulltime position. Good luck to you and much success.

I too, stay home with my three children. My husband is Active Duty Military (U.S. Army) and is currently stationed in Iraq. He has been there for a little more than 4 months now and is scheduled to come home for a short 2 week R&R, then back he goes for another 10 months. I think it's hard for him to understand why I choose to be home and I sometimes feel pressure that I should be "doing more", which is why I have made the decision to work at home with my own business. Just because we aren't physically going to a job everyday - outside the house - doesn't mean we aren't working just as hard! It really infuriates me to be asked - "So what are you going to be one day?" Hello???? I am a MOM and a darn good one at that! Is there anything wrong with wanting to make yourself available to your children (especially while they're young)??? Are there any other Military moms out there raising kids "alone"????

Dana,
I feel that you made a great decision.
Raising your children should be at the top of your priority list.
It's like this..........
Go out get a JOB
wake at 6:00 a.m. have breakfast
drop off kids at 8:30 a.m.
work at a JOB you'll probably hate
pick up kids around 5:30 p.m.
head for home
get stuck in traffic
arrive home around 6:00 p.m. or later
cook dinner
eat
do dishes
give baths
do the laundry, sweep the floor and all the other chores
you did not have time to do in the morning (you get the idea)

Do this everyday for 5 days straight
finally it's Friday your pay check comes and
it all goes to DAYCARE!!!!
So in essence your working to pay someone else to raise your children.

or...............
Build a business at home around your schedule
create your own income (the sky's the limit)
Enjoy your work
keep all the profits.

Now don't get me wrong,
working from home is just that working from home
so you'll have to treat your business as a business
set a schedule, advertise, introduce what your marketing to others, keep your books, pay your taxes, etc....

keep plugging your business in the end you'll be glad you did and so will your husband.

BTW- I own two business I work from home, although I'm not a military mom I am a single of 4. I have been independently creating a income from home for more than 8 years.
It can be done!

Here's to your success,
Cindy

Hi. I am also a stay at home Mom. I just started exploring the Internet for ways to make a little extra money for my family. Being down to one income is an adjustment.

I have recently started participating in free online surveys for some extra money. I have also started a blog which reviews the survey companies that I have tried.

I am hopeful this will bring in the extra money my family needs.

Remember that old saying, "When's the best time to plant a tree? " - Twenty years ago. "When's the second-best time to plant a tree?"- Today.

I wish I had known BEFORE I had children, and I wish I could tell girlfriends that BEFORE you have that first baby, is a great time to start a second-income stream (typically a Network Marketing business). You can get it going while you still have real free time (?what's that LOL?) and build it slowly in about 8-10 hours of focused time each week.

After several months of working it seriously, your residual income can be large enough that you can spend less time recruiting, and more time COACHING your downline - via phone and email while baby is sleeping!

Will you make enough to replace your full-time income? Depends. But if you factor in costs of daycare, wardrobe, gas, meals out, etc. that most 9-6 working Moms face, you could probably make a case for staying home with the little one(s) for as long as you want to!

So I would suggest that if you absolutely need cash NOW, starting an NM job with babies is tough - but if you have a little bit of luxury to start now, realizing that it will pay off and pay well for a long time if you are patient - join the club and find the right company for you!

Best wishes,
Anita Hampl

beccimonk,
My idea of ironing is to throw it in the dryer!

If you love to iron and this is the business you want to start
here is my advice....

Find your niche market
in your case I think it's safe to say yours may be the following
single men
busy moms
busy couples
older people

Call your locale dry cleaners and ask what they charge for ironing
this will give you a better idea as what to charge and you'll be able figure out how many garments you'll need to iron a day in order to make some money.
will you pick up and deliver the finished product?

scratch all that

Better Idea....
Only iron for the wealthiest people in your community
doctors, lawyers, the people that are living in the grandest homes
charge what your worth or more
if you undercut the price, potential customers will lose respect for you and the service you trying to provide them

Can you do alterations?
What other services can you offer in addition to ironing?

I don't know if I helped or not
I just can't fathom liking to iron for a living

Even better yet
PM me and I'll set you up with a Fre^e on line business
and then you can shop for the wealthiest people

Cindy

Hi Ladies!!

I was working in pharmaceuticals sales and after having my son, decided that I should be the one raising my child. I knew that there was something I could do from home that would actually make money that wouldnt take years and years to start earning, it just took me a few years to find.

Well, as of last week, I had left my job in pharmaceutical sales, I am now a full time, stay at home mom and C.E.O. I tried many different opportunities and threw away a lot of money before I finally found the business that would give me the ability to leave my job. I found the opportunity in March and was able to quit in July!!

My advice to any mom who wants to stay/work at home, is to do your research, never give up, and know that it is possible. Whenever someone tells you that it isn't possible, ignore them. Look to this board for proof!! Good luck in your search and I wish you the best of luck and much success!!!

One more thing: prior to doing the research, write down what it is you really want to achieve through working at home-- is it being able to work while your child is in the room with you?, something that you can do from anywhere like the park or beach, do you want to do parties or not?, etc.- and stick with what is important to you. This is very important as you do not want to get started in a business that, for example, you have to go out at night and do parties if your real goal is never having to leave home for your business to succeed. Just something I learned through trial and error! Hope this helps!

Looking for a Mom who works from home earning a 6 figure income? That's me :::raising hand:::;

It can be done Mom's! Join with the right program, don't underestimate your self, your income, your abilities.

I did it because of an automated system, plus a lot of marketing I did that produced results were totally fr*e.

Now we help to train other Mom's who want a successful home business, don't just look at low tier programs look at the high tier programs you will make more money in less time. Some of the lower paying programs such as candle sales may cost as much as $300 to start and a monthly fee of $59 and the commission is about $5-10 per candle, (I know been there done that!) as opposed to starting with a program where I get $1,000 commission and can begin at $350 down. One sale will produce 2 other sales for you which results in $3,000 and you don't have to wait for the money you are paid right away.

I am a work at home mom and grandmom. I retired early from Corporate America after 23 years with a major airline. I didn't want to be bored at home and I wanted to supplement my income because when you retire, you do not get 100% of what you were making. I work with a 22-year old family oriented company and we share a concept with others and we get paid to share information about the partner company. There are NO sells involved. The company has an awesome 22 year growth chart and the President and CEO sits on the board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, won the Better Business Bureau Hall of Fame Award for 2005 and the Salvation Army's highest award given to a company this past July 2007.

I would be glad to share all the details with you, so click on my link in my signature field or send me and email. It's pretty awesome working with moms and dads who want to spend time with family and enjoy what's most important to us-family. And it only cost me $29 with a 120 day (4 mo) money back guarantee.

Whatever you decide to do, check out the company with the Better Business Bureau. Know what complaints they have/had and how they were handled. Ask if the company publishes business partners salaries, from the lowest paid to the highest paid. Ask for their growth chart. Bottom line, investigate. Don't take too long, however, it is a known fact that if you put of until tomorrow, you lose that passion or desire, you lose the excitement and you need to keep the excitement. With that excitement you work your team, work with your mentor and learn. Absorb as much as you can as if you were a sponge. It will pay off and it's up to you if you want to grow fast, cause faster is easier or slow. Slow is not failing, but fast keeps the excitement there and mentors look for people who are anxious to travel that road with them, because if you don't succeed, neither do they.

Mary

I also am a work-at-home mom.
I have three children and a husband and
I love working at home. I was working
for a company that outsourced my work
to another country. I was devastated.
That is a horrible feeling. I decided right
then that I was going to find a business I
could believe in and that it would be up to
me how much I earn and something no one
could take away from me or outsource. I am
now responsible for how much I earn and all
I have to do is consistently work the business
and never give up. It is not always easy but you
have to have the right mind set and just do it!

Making Money online takes patience, trial and error. But persaverance makes a person sucessful. Too many people give up and want the pie in the sky without putting the effort into being trained and gaining the skills for LONG term sucess. Good Luck and be patient. It will pay off.

I'm a work at home mom, it's really the best thing for my family. There is so much great advice given by other moms here, listen to it. Working from home can be done successfully, you just have to decide how much you want it. Failure is not an option in my eyes. Click on the signatures on this forum, you will find a ton of ideas.

I've been a stay at hom mom for 14 yrs. I have 3 very active sons and I'm the proud wife of a police officer. We definitely have a chaotic schedule/life, but I LOVE it, because I don't miss anything, I'm always there!

Good luck and much success to you!
