I came across this insprirational quote the other day and I just wanted to share it with everyone.

"If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way."
- Buddha

I found it to be very meaningful and motivational.

Hi Philip,

That's a nice quote.

It accomplishes several things:

1. Opens a person up - unlocks divine love within and increases the feeling of worthiness.

2. Makes you feel generous while sometimes inspiring others to do the same.

3. Helps someone out that may really need it.

4. Increases the feeling of community and the desire to help even more in the future.

5. Strengthens the general attitude of goodwill for both the giver and the receiver.

Thanx for the quote. I'm a big fan of Buddha quotes

Hello Philip,

At first glance, giving appears to be a one-way action, but on closer inspection it is actually a deed with intrinsic reciprocal benefits. Giving and receiving are opposite ends of the same pole. I give something to you, you receive something from me. That's a physical transaction.

But wait, there's more!

On a higher level another transaction is occuring. The giver is experiencing a feeling of satisfaction created by offering a gift, while the recipient is feeling a sense of gratitude for the good deed. A reciprocal exchange of a different kind.

Giving is similar to hugging. You can't do either without experiencing an immediate and simultaneous benefit.

Hi Shield,

2. Makes you feel generous while sometimes inspiring others to do the same.

I like those insights, especially the one about unlocking divine love within. How true!

Hermas
