Hi my name is Shonna. I was employed making $40,000 per year plus quarterly bonuses. My job required me to work over 55+ hours per week. I was running a restaurant and loved it. I love to inspire and motivate my team to excel and to be the best. Unfortunately I was away from my home too much and it really put strain on my family life. My son was failing the second grade and spent more time with the babysitter then me. My husband was very supportive but with his work schedule we never saw each other. I made the decision to respectfully end my career. It has been has been 10 months and I'm proud to say my son, now in third grade, is on the honor roll, my husband gets home cooked meals, I'm a wife and mom again. We are just having an economic crisis of our own. My husband makes great money but as you all know, a 2 income family is necessary these days. I'm really interested on working on line, but have know idea where to even start. I don't know the different options that are available.I know there is alot of scams out there. Just wanted to tell ya guys a little about myself, and get some advice from tenured folks. Thank you for your time and help, have a great day. Shonna

Welcome Shonna!

You are going to find a lot of things scattered throughout the fourms here - I guess my advice is to dig around and see what you find that interests you... most of it what we all do is either affiliate marketing thru blogs, etc... ( I personally love Squidoo, but that may still all be 'greek' to you!)

And then there are those that are in home based businesses of some sort or other - marketing anything from jewelry and skin care to travel or healthy stuff.

have fun browsing and please feel free to ask if you have questions - we are a fairly friendly bunch around here.

Hi Shonna,

As others have mentioned, I agree that affiliate marketing is a great way to go. However, it can be very tricky, and if things are tight, and you need to earn extra money right away, I don't think its a good idea to "depend" on affiliate marketing. What I would suggest is getting a part time job to start earning an extra income - maybe 20 hours a week so you don't have to spend too much time away from home. You can do affiliate marketing on the side, and work on your own pace - I think that would be the best way to go for someone in your situation.

Regards,

Keith

Hi Shonna,

I prefer affiliate marketing, but it does require some time to get going, especially if you are new to internet marketing.

I started with retail (eBay), and that went very well.
If you need help or info on that, PM me anytime.

You can earn money writing articles and include your affiliate links , or you can be paid to write for others.
Really, you could learn to do this fairly quickly.

Of course most importantly, if you choose a program, research it well or ask here in the forum, just to verify it is a legitimate offer.

There are some wonderful programs, and some that are not so wonderful.

Have a great day!
Victoria

Hi Shonna,

Welcome to the wonderful world of making money from home. It sounds like you have all of the ingredients to being successful online.

I am also new to online money making and have found cash gifting programs the most lucrative, user friendly and expedient. That being said, you must learn how to execute your endeavour efficiently. After learning a few basics you can really get the ball rolling for yourself.

I wish you the best and would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Good to hear from you Shonna!
The most important lesson I've learned from my experience pursuing online business endeavors is that there is a place for everyone in the great expanse of the world wide web. Don't ever be afraid to change your plan and take on new ideas from as many sources as possible.
Personally, affiliate marketing has worked wonders for me. Practically every product imaginable has an affiliate program available, whether it's a tangible item or a digital item such as an eBook. There is a plethora of proven, time-tested methods that deliver income that reflects the amount of effort that you put into your business. As an affiliate for any company or service, you receive a commission for each consumer you refer to the parent company's site, given that their journey ends in a sale. You achieve this by writing effective reviews of their product in the form of blogs, articles, etc.
The great aspect of this niche is that little or no start-up cost is required, and early profits can be invested into growing your business and you can really take it as far as you like. Write a couple articles, make a couple sales; Flood the web with information, make a ton of sales!
Best of luck to you and anyone new to making money from home! It's truly something worth getting excited about.
