Hey guys.

Ok I have decided on something I want to do. The niche isn't really micro. It's actually huge, however I am doing a blog and there are SEVERAL aspects that I can address within this market.

I want to do this partly for cash but also to help other people. This is really a long term project I am going into. I love writing, and thats why I have taken the blogging route.

However my questions:

This blog needs to be kind of like a website.. I need separate pages and stuff. Now I no this is possible in Wordpress... But what about Blogger?

The reason I want to go for blogger is because I can get the hosting free.. I can't really afford hosting, just the domain really.

Any ideas?

Also, both blogger and wordpress can be customized, however I have absolutely no knowledge of HTML. So is it still possible for me to design my blog the way I want? Custom graphics , logos etc?

I have photoshop and can design stuff, but I just don't no how to put all the stuff into the blog! Does anybody have a guide I can view online? Or any idea where I can follow somebodies steps on creating an awesome looking blog...

I don't want to over complicate it, but I do need it to look nice and flashy.. Due to the type of market it needs to look decent!

So basically I am still at square one.. But I am sure after some time I will get visitors on a regular basis, and I can probably sell books and other types of products online from the blog. But my first aim is getting this blog up and running and looking sweet.

Can anybody help?

Also, if somebody would like to join me in this venture feel free to ask. This is to help other people and give decent insights. However I feel after a while it will be a great resource for people.

That is a huge step in the right direction right there... your readers will know if you are trying to help them or sell them.

Here are my experiences with both blogger and wordpress...

Blogger is easier to add stuff to, like pictures on the sides, extra links, info etc... it has more widgets to work with...

Wordpress will be easier to get generic traffic with thru google and yahoo search engines... but it is harder to work with as far as adding links and etc...

What I have done is set up a blog on both - just using slightly different keywords and then cross linking them so that way, I can have my adsense ads on the Blogger one and while wordpress gets more visitors, I still get them to blogger... make sense?

Why don't you use Weebly?

I love them.

You get free hosting, free website and blog.
It is super easy to use, anyone can build a site within 1/2 hour.

I have used Weebly too, and I agree, it is a great and easy to use site... but it is almost impossible to get organic traffic to it.

It is a great site to use if you only want a place to send people to.

If you want to use SEO - won't happen much with Weebly!

I use both Word Press and Blogger.
Word Press gives you nicer looking blog templates, but blogger has some decent ones too and works out better in the end as the text comes out better on the page - easier to read.

You mentioned looking for help on your venture. Why don't you PM me and let me know what your blog will be about and I can let you know if I can help you.
