Vishal gave you the best places to start, but for most of those you have to bid on projects. That may or may not work for you. What you want to write might also influence your choices as well. But each of those places Vishal mentioned typically have areas of writing you can choose from, like technical or creative or what have you. You might also try http://www.allfreelance.com http://www.journalismjobs.com http://www.powerlance.com You might also want to try submitting articles to magazines, and if you go to your local library, you should be able to find a copy of the current Writer's Market so you can see what options you have.
