I spoke with someone, and even bought the DVD...well I didn't know that it was for herbalife...

Not for me. If I can find the DVD I'll send it to you, but I might have thrown it away.

Yep I got suckerd into buying one of the DVDs from a 60minute money web site (and there are HUNDREDS of them out there all lurking behind various web site names)

They all have to do with HERBALIFE products.

Type in the words herbalife scam into any search engine and you'll find out all the good and the bad I just wish I had done the same thing my self and saved myself $20.00 or whatever it was.

But it was a couple of years back now and like they say ...

Never get carried away by the "Get Rich Quick Schemes". There is only one way of making money legally and morally and that is to sell something-a product or a service. Find good quality products and services advertise them, build a mailing list, develop a good relation with customers with regular follow ups, sell your products and establish yourself as a trust-worthy person.

I agree. Without a real product then it screams scam. And even when a real product is sold I think it's important to sell a product that you believe in. If you like vitamins and such then I'm sure you can succeed with Herbalife. But you have to have a passion for it!

I think though that money can be made with some of the affiliate programs. The key thing though is to identify a good genuine product, preferable one that is fairly new but has potential. Also one that you dont have to necessary subscribe to or pay a fee

I too purchased a DVD for 10.00 smackers for the 60 Minute Money program only to do some searching where I found out the information was Herbalife... after seeing it on forums such as this, so without your help perhaps I too would have been a victim.. I thank you everyone out there for saving my hip pocket.. well done...

I'm sure Herbalife is a good product, but, the company is getting a lot of bad publicity because of the way people are promoting it. You would think a company that size would be able to do something about it.

After talking to many, many people both webmasters and disgrutled purchasers I've found that a great chunk of the "Workfromhome" game is selling "work from home" ideas. Which I guess is not all that bad in and of itself if you actually have some reasonable insight and are willing to mentor on a personal level. Beyond that most people put sites up selling ebooks they cooked up in an hour on how to market and make money online just to sell a how to make money online book... quite sad actually.

I've often considered putting an ebook on clickbank just to do that but can't bring myself to be so down right unethical.

Alot of the online stuff I see is very similar to what I see in the accounting world. From time to time i'll see invoices for small amounts, $10 -$20. For a service or item that we've never actually purchased or used. There are companies out there that are so large that i'd say out of 100 invoices sent out 10 get paid. And it's all just a scam.

Ah if only I were a crook life would be...crooked.

I have put my name down for many work at home opportunities & still many of these sites are used for Herbalife so it's still happening, I am going with EDC because I don't like the way many of these health & wellness companies work. I also got a call from ACN (Telecommunications) they have had several issues in relations to their company practices here in Australia, From what I read in another forum they were taken to court by the ACCC for their pyramid like scheme but were found not guilty but the ACCC tried too appeal the verdict but lost.

I found it interesting how they said Donald Trump had endorsed the company but you should never forget the Cash For Comments affair because it's so easy too pay someone in any industry too give your company a good rap.

Here is my take on this whole situation. Reading what you guys have said inspired me to do a bit of research. And what I found was appalling! I came across this website (I won't list the link, but I will post the ad copy). It's apparently promoted overseas...here's what the website says:

This system teaches you exactly how you can build an international business from your home using identical tried and tested internet tools and marketing systems that the founder of this system has used to generate thousands of pounds in profit. What you will receive is a complete 'home business in a box,' you do not need any special skills or talent to succeed, all tools and methods are provided and explained fully.

This program has been effective all over the world and uses saleable consumer goods that people want and use each month, it does not involve selling useless information. The system is fully automated allowing part time participation, it is workable from any location, and it is affordable, so accessable to all.

With this system you will get

* access to real patented consumable products with high demand and profit margins
* access to complete suite of websites and mail order materials
* access to personal training site
* daily live training messages
* assigned your own experienced personal coach

With this system comes two bonuses

* hoe to get the government to subsidise your home business by an extra $5000 each year
* free fax number, all your faxes will be emailed to you free of charge!

There is a 12 month money back guarentee with this system and if you do not make $12,000 or more within a year then they will refund double the difference.

You get to keep the bonuses even if you get a refund.

The cost of this program is 27.00, you will receive one CD ROM explaining all the details about this system.

So, someone who's interested has to pay about $30 in USD just to get a CD or DVD that explains more about the program. And that's not including the price of actually joining the program. That's unbelievable to me. Nothing I've ever seen before has screamed "scam" more clearly than this. While I'm a businesswoman and I realize that you have to invest to earn in the business world, no one should have to pay just to learn more about something! And no distributor website should be so secretive about what they provide that there's a need to go and order something just to learn more. There is an additional link associated with this website, and I clicked just to see what it was about. Then the story changed. It says you can get a free training and evaluation package, just pay for shipping. So is that shipping what costs $30? I hardly believe that!

I also visited Herbalife's website, just to find out more about their biz opp. Well, it looks like I have to give my personal info (name, city, state, zip, phone number and email address) before I can even learn more about their business model, comp plan, opportunity price and so on. The more I learn, the less I'm liking Herbalife (and before I always respected the company because it's been around for years). Seems like some of the distributors are up to some dirty tricks just to get people's money and contact info.

My feeling on any business opportunity is that those doing research should be able to learn about the program and find out whatever pertinent info they need to make a decision without having to purchase something or give up all of their info. The main focus should be to build up trust with your customers. Yet with this 60 minute money program they're asking for money from customers before they've built any kind of relationship with their website visitors. Not an ethical way to do business if you ask me!

For those who are researching, just a few hints: you should never have to pay just to get info. Nor should you be forced to give your info before you get any. A legitimate opportunity has no reason to be secretive or hide info. So if you come across such, I suggest you steer clear. There are plenty of great biz opps out here that are willing to give you all the info you need to make an informed decision upfront. There is plenty to choose from, so don't get hung up on just one opportunity.

Oh, and Casper I sent you an email. Let me know that you got it, and let me know if you have any other questions!

Good luck to everyone!

If it says "quick and easy" - in this case 60 minutes, AVOID IT. Making money in any business takes hard work - if you are led to believe something else, put away your credit card and RUN FOR THE HILLS!
