There is no doubt that pursuing what you love can give you a great deal of fulfillment, but you also need a career that can give you little bit of security to pursue your passion Having said that, in my opinion the niches you mentioned are very broad and you need to laser target sub niches to be really successful. For example, in health products, there are many sub niches. Try to identify if there are any under utilized ones there. Sounds pretty easy on paper but doing it practically is much more difficult and involves great deal of research.

Just like the best way to learn swimming is by jumping into the water, the best way to learn affiliate marketing is by creating and promoting a few websites. Don't worry if you make mistakes. There are hardly few people whose first websites were success.

To find sub niches you can use a keyword tool and type in "health products" and look at all the long-tail keywords and see what you come up with. They should all have google search results and low competition.

Your interest in books, mags, etc. could lead you to audio books. There are several audio book sites that have affiliate programs. Some have a 'back office' that provides you with keywords, all types of promotional materials, and a step-by-step guide to internet marketing (which you can apply to any affiliate program). I will not advertise for them on our forum. If you're interested my contact info is on my website. Send me an email.

Manidip,

You can definitely use your interests and hobbies to build an income online. I had difficulty in choosing my first niche, too. Fortunately the program I use to host, build, and maintain my site has really good brainstorming and research tools that give you valuable info. to help make the right choice.

Apart from those, here are some free tools that may assist you in deciding. Google has a keyword tools that is specifically for Adwords research, but can be used to find out what kind of supply and demand there are for certain keywords. The tool is https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Play around with that a bit and see if you can make some headway.

Also, there are two free public version research tools provided by the company I use. I'll post them here, but if they get deleted by the moderators, you can email me and I will send them by reply email. I'm not sure if they are allowed to be listed here.

The first is ChooseIt, which helps you decide the best site concept for you or anything else you want to decide for that matter. It is [Link removed - Admin]

The second is SearchIt, and it has a whole range of very good research tools. I love this one the best. It is [Link removed - Admin]

You don't necessarily have to be good at article writing. It is just one of the ways to increase your traffic. Personally, I haven't written any articles yet - how embarrassing. I write my website content, sure, but I haven't gotten around to trying that avenue yet.

Still, my site is steadily rising in the ranks from other free methods of traffic generation. Mostly, I just provide more and more content to my site. This seems to work the best. Over 80 of my pages are ranked in the top 30 with Google and I've never paid a dime for advertising.

Be encouraged. If you want a free ebook on affiliate marketing, just drop me an email and I will send that on to you.
