I was in correspondence with this guy for about the last week or so and he seemed like he was really interested in learning about how to build his business big. All in all I spent a good few hours in total helping him. I could have concentrated my energy on someone else but he appeared to be genuinely serious about wanting to succeed in the network marketing industry.

He asked pertinent questions about what to look for when searching for a good company and what works and what doesn't work. I answered his questions to the best of my ability and then he wrote me an email that just completely floored me.

After all the time and energy I put into helping him, he said something that anybody in their right mind would consider completely inappropriate and would agree with me that getting rid of him from my life was the best and safest course of action I could take.

Talk about a real let down and a disappointment. I wrote back to him and told him I'd have to end our discussion for good because I could not trust him anymore. I said I didn't want to take the chance that he might hurt my reputation in the future should he decide to talk like that to anybody on my team.

He wrote back and said I was being judgemental of him and that I was lucky I could pick and choose who to help or not. What an absolute idiot! I didn't respond back to him but, instead, I put his email address on my block list because I really don't want to receive this kind of garbage in my mail box again.

What a waste of my time that was. I guess he thought he fooled me when in reality he's only making a fool of himself. Oh well.

What's the lesson in all of this for me? Well, it served to confirm just how important it is for me to continue to make sure I qualify the people I speak to before allowing them into my business. Could you imagine if I had let this jerk slip into my organization?

This raises a point: How do you fire someone from your business? There are kooks out there who have nothing better to do than to try to undermine what you do for a living and who want nothing more than to try and waste your time. What if someone in your downline turns out to be harmful to your reputation and to the growth of your business? What can you do? Maybe I'll look into that and write my next blog about it.

To Your Success!
