Hello, I am just starting to dip my hand in the cookie jar. I have read several of the topics and am happy to find such friendly folks. I have been reading and learning much in the past couple weeks but I will confess, I am very much an infant when it comes to internet marketing. I like to write and that is what I have gravitated toward. I have started to write an article but(and here is the funny part) I am scared to death! Any advice on getting through the newbie jitters?

Anyone who has been involved with internet marketing for any length of time, and like you, had to take that first step. Doing worry about the jitters - just write - it doesn't have to be perfect, just get something on "paper" (or computer in this case!).

First of all, welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will find lots of helpful information. I'm pretty new to internet marketing too (a little more than a month), but I have learned a lot already. You say you are trying to write an article, so does that mean you are trying to get into article marketing (affiliate marketing method)?

If you are nervous about writing, then don't be. If you want you could write an article about something you are interested in just for practice. Use a pen name if you aren't comfortable using your own name. Just concentrate and start writing. It needs to be well written, but does not need to be uber-professional, so I'm sure you will do fine. Believe it or not, writing articles does get easier over time. Good luck!

Hello mkosully, and welcome to the forum.

The fact that you are "nervously excited" about writing and publishing articles is a good sign and quite normal too. The best way to overcome the newbie jitters is to just do it!

Visit sites like EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and ArticlesFactory.com and take a look at what others have written in your area of expertise. This will give you a great opportunity to compare what's availabe to what you are capable of producing, and it could be a big boost to your confidence.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Go for it!

mkosully,
I was nervous when I started too and still am, just before I click that button to submit an article I sit there and wonder if it's good enough.
I never thought I could get anything published because of lack of education, I only finished the 8th grade. That's right no high school, not one day, no college. I took a few online writing courses and got my nerve up to submit articles and yes some got rejected, and still do, but some got accepted and that gave me the confidence I needed to continue. You can do anything you put your mind to.

As far as the articles go, you don't want them to be too long. No more than 1000 words but no less than 300 words. That's a pretty general guideline to stick to.

With the topic, write about whatever it is that you know. Maybe write about the experiences of just starting up in Internet Marketing.

Once completed, submit the article to as many article directories as possible!

Welcome!
..one more thought - just set up your own blog and start writing articles and blogs for that.

Add pictures and what not all - and before you know it, you will be a pro at it. Think of a time when you started something new, like a new job or when you learned to drive - anything that gave you the jitters - and look at how you felt after a few months or even weeks of doing it...same here.

See you around,
Viola
