Sorry! There is no secret  The key is to find a company with a proven history, great products and pay plan, hit the ground running, and DONT QUIT!
There are soooo many MLM's out there and a lot of them are good. However, only 2% of the folks who get involved with them ever "make it." Hmmmm isnt that the same percentage of the folks who "make it" in the non MLM world? I guess the numbers dont lie and will always be the same.
We have found the same to be true in our businesses and it really has nothing to do with the amount invested to start a business. We have dozens on our team who invested thousands and didnt even make it through the first week of training. We also have many who got involved in a free business and did nothing with it. I just got an email from a lady who got involved in one of our free businesses. She never sold one product or promoted her business. Her only downline was what I gave her. In her email she complained because her check was only $12! She then started posting Myspace bulletins on how I was a scam. Had she taken the same effort to post those bulletins to promote herself/business/products she may have gotten a bigger check (does that make sense?)
I dont want to bust anyones bubble here and I do wish you all great providence. However, success has a mighty price tag and very few are willing to pay it!
I dont believe in "auto business" and if you ask the folks who have been successful with their "auto pilot" business you will find that they busted their butts, for many hours, for many days, weeks, months, years!
So the key is to simply work hard, work smart and never quit!
We are not involved in Amway, but we do think its a good company and when one of their top guys was interviewed, by Diane Sawyer, his words were golden.....(and he built his business before this internet that we are blessed with)
I cant find the exact text but it went something like this....
Diane asks Bill Britt what his secret is. Bill responds something like.
"There is no secret. I simply showed the plan to 1200 people. 900 said NO! Of the 300 who said yes only around 100 did anything at all. Out of the 100, only 30 were serious and out of the 30 serious ones, 11 made me a millionaire!"
Ready to make YOUR business work? Then work it! Its ALL up to YOU! You dont try any business, your business tries you!
Get your business and products exposed to as many people as you can! If you dont have money to advertise online/offline you just may have to step out of your comfort zone and introduce to some new folks and make friends with them. I know this sounds "old school" but if you dont have an ad budget it works far better than sitting around waiting for your ship to come in.
On another note, there are many places you can advertise online for free but it takes many hours to get results. I decided to explore the "free" stuff so I could teach how to do it. I went out and got 10,000 myspace friends, on two sites, and it works great. But it did take me, at least, 2 hours a day for 6 months, using a friendblaster, to get it to 10,000.
Man I got long winded. Guess its time to take an offering..lol
Just understand that the words I said came from my heart! There is no secret! There is no, make $500 a day with no effort, business out there. (at least none I know of that are legal and moral)
Just find something you have a passion for. Find a company with a history of proven success, and work like your life depends on it!
However, if your only goal is to make money, it aint gonna happen! When you figure out why you need the money, and are willing to give it your ALL, you are well on your way to making some!
Most of all, NEVER give up! (even if the grass looks greener on some forum post)

Yes. I agree with you.
Recently, i learned this from a successful MLM Guru. He said that there is no secret. But it all depends on you.

Nice Post, I agree.
The statement that you don't work your business, it works you is very true.
I am really enjoying being in momentum though, it helps me to have the excitement to do the thing that need to be done.

Great post. I didn't find success until I started accepting responsibility for my own future and decided failure was not an option.

I see so many people come so close to success in this industry only to quit. Not realizing how close they actually came.
