Hi all

How many adsense account can we have?

I have a niche website relating to health problem. My main keyword phrase ranks on the first page of google and some of secondary keyword phrases rank either on the first page or second page.

However, I am not making much from the website.

The website has not more than 10 pages. Average daily uv is about 30 currently.

Any ideas of what should I do to increase adsense earnings? Increase webpage so that to increase the daily uv?

Thanks

Hi Gary,

You really only need one Adsense account. You can use the same account to place ads on different websites that you own. You can identify the clicks from the different sites by setting up "channels" in your Adsense code before placing it on the site.

As to how to get more traffic and clicks, you're right. Write more pages focused on specific keywords that you have a good chance of ranking well for in the search engines (higher demand, lower supply).

Once you get more pages up (at least 30 or so) then you can submit your site to a few directories and get a few backlinks to your site. Comment on some related blogs (leaving your url to your site where requested).

Answer some questions on Yahoo Answers that relate to your site niche. Be sure to give good/informative answers and leave a link to your site in the resource box. It's best not to leave a link every single time, so you don't get accused of 'spamming.'

This little actions all work together to raise your rankings in the search engines and bring you more free targeted traffic. It takes a little time, but it works if you continue to put forth the effort and have some patience.

Blessings,
Angie

Thanks Angie for your quick response and sound advice on how to make more income from google adsense.

Honestly, I have used up all the allowed 100 "channels". Can't delete the unused or wrongly created one.

I did answer some of the questions in Yahoo answer and left my url there, only then I found out that all the back links are no follow.

Be careful on Yahoo answers and don't use any important yahoo account of yours. Yahoo can ban your account any time if it thinks that you are promoting something.
Some people I know have their accounts banned because of answering 20 questions a day (still within Yahoo's limit!)

How could you have used up 100 channels if you only have 10 pages on your site? Also, you should be able to remove the ones you no longer use. If you can't find the instructions in Adsense, perhaps ask in the Adsense forums.

You can use a different channel for every single ad placement on your site, but it isn't necessary. I only use about 6 channels on each site, just so I know which site, and which placement on the page is being clicked on.

That doesn't tell me which page on the site is being clicked on, but that doesn't bother me. Some people like getting into the nitty gritty details like that and refining it, but I don't bother. I figure my time is better spent elsewhere.

As for Yahoo Answers. It doesn't matter if it is a nofollow. You'll still see traffic from it - at least I sure do. But if you are only trying to get nofollow links then perhaps you should stick to blogs and forums and articles sites that don't use the nofollow tag.

I don't limit myself to only those, but again - whatever you prefer.

Blessings,
Angie

I have more than 1 website. The one that I mentioned is the one that I am currently pursuing.

I use each channel for every placement so that I can keep track of the performance of each of them. It's really tiring of doing so!

Thanks for your suggestion, I will try it and post it here the answers later.

I don't have much luck in terms of getting traffic from Yahoo answer. Most of my traffic are from search engine and referring site such as ezinearticles.com

Thanks again happywife for taking time to post it here.

Hey Gary,

I was just thinking... Maybe the reason you can't delete some of your channels is because they are still in use? I don't know if that might be the reason, but the thought just popped into my head.

I can imagine! That's probably why I haven't bothered. I tend to just the name them with the site, the size, and the placement, like...

CCM Square Upper Left

There IS an advantage if you know a certain page is getting a good click-thru. You can then try driving more traffic to that page by posting articles that link back to it, etc., but it's just too much fiddly work for me at this point. I just go on and add more keyword focused content pages.

My traffic is mostly from Google, too, but it's nice to have the added traffic from Yahoo and various other sources. It feels a bit more well-rounded, I guess. I'm sure it must give you a better "image" in Google's eyes.

Well, curiosity got the best of me. I just went into my Adsense account to check on the channel situation. Here's what Google has to say...
"At this time, it is not possible to rename a URL channel. However, you can deactivate or remove an existing channel and create a new channel at any time from within your publisher account.

To deactivate or remove a URL channel:

1. From within your publisher account, click the AdSense Setup tab
2. Click the Channels link
3. Choose a product and the URL channel link
4. From the list of channels, select the channel(s) to deactivate or remove
5. From the dropdown in the upper left, select Deactivate checked or Remove checked

Deactivated channels aren't counted towards the total number of allowed channels, and they can be reactivated at any time."

Does that help?

Blessings,
Angie
