Article marketing has been my main marketing method. It takes up more than 50% of my time.

What about you?

I am heavily into article marketing too. It can be time consuming, but not bad if you get lots of profits from them.

I like to write, so I don't mind. I think there are article submision programs out there, but I have not checked into them yet. Maybe someone will stop by soon and help us out. I currently only do ezine articles and it does drive qualified traffic to my site. I do that and post on forums and blogs related to my site. That has helped a lot too because some of these people like my responses and end up sending me an email. I build a relationship with them and go from there.

Article marketing takes up a significant portion of my online marketing strategies as well.
It's only one piece of the marketing puzzle, but no puzzle is complete without all its pieces.

Article marketing is one of the traditional and best method. You could get targeted traffic as well as backlinks which will increase your search engine rankings.

The buzz in online circles is that Pay per click (adwords on Google, Yahoo Search Marketing, etc) is difficult to learn and master. I'm here to tell you it isn't...IF...you are smart about starting your campaigns the right way.

Now there are many PPC courses out there but the only one I'd recommend for a beginner is by Jim Yaghi.

If you want more details, feel free to email me thru this site. For certain people, I provide access to his material free of charge, with no agenda. I own the rights to it and I can do this legally.

My criteria is simple for giving access. You'll need to convince me you are sincere. That's my entire agenda.

Best,

Article marketing is a big piece to my puzzle and it takes up about 30% of my time along with other ways of getting targeted traffic. At first it was a real pain but with practice, I now enjoy it a little and that joy keeps increases with my experience.

PPC is referred to as pay per click. You pick keywords, create an ad and everytime someone makes a search that is relevant to your keywords then you ad will pop up on the same page on the far right hand of the screen. Everytime someone clicks on your ad then you pay the agreed amount per click. That is why it is called pay per click.

You need to have some experience in this field because if you go with a very big niche like make money online and you don't know much about ppc then you can see how you can lose a lot money very quickly. Caution is recommended.

Hi Gary,

My stance it that it's very helpful in the beginning.

If you build a good site, create a fair-sized group of loyal readers, and serve your community well, you won't need to write articles after a while.

I recommend writing articles for the first year or two and to work hard at creating a news-worthy site while your at it. Reputation and authority are becoming more valuable as time passes.

Articles should take up a good percentage of a marketer's time.

The percentage depends upon personal style and strategy.

I focus mainly on blog, forum and articles. These are the IM that will bring me the traffic.

I also tried some other methods like safelist, classified ad. The result wasn't very obvious. You might even receive junk from these sites.

Hi Globas,

You might start with EzineArticles or GoArticles.

The main point is to drive traffic to you site so you'll need a site to link to from each article. You can also drive traffic to a Squidoo lens or a free blog.

People, although all these suggestions are OK to varying degrees for traffic generation, they lack one thing...targeted traffic looking for what you offer. The tire kickers abound from free methods like blogs,
articles and the like...even from forums like these.

For the MLM'er, Network Marketer or Direct Seller, Pay-per-click is the only one that creates targeted leads and buyers from targeted searchers. Here is the problem with PPC:

-people refuse to spend the time and effort to learn it
-rumors abound about how expensive it is and how you'll risk losing $$.

The truth about PPC:

-it is not difficult to learn, however it takes effort. With the right educational tools (and NOT by 'winging it') a campaign can be established within 1-2 days that will immediately drive targeted searchers to your business. After that, with the right educational tools, tweaking and refining it can be whittled down to 10 minutes daily. Wash, rinse & repeat for additional campaigns on a limitless amount of keywords.

-Only a moron or lazy person will lose money on PPC by either not using daily limits or by misuse of daily limits. And I'm not implying to set your limits at $2.00 per day either. With the proper educational tools, you can learn how and why setting a limit of $25-$50 per day will not only get you hordes of targeted searchers within 10 minutes of turning a campaign on, it also doesn't really put you at risk for spending $25-$50 per day. Sounds like a contradiction I know...however PPC is a counter-intuitive tool when you approach it without the proper educational tools.

See a trend here? Proper educational tools? This is how I have gotten PPC to actually give me real leads and buyers for free. This is how I have maintained an avg. of $9:$1 using PPC...for every dollar spent, I earn $9.

In closing, you can keep on writing blogs, articles, posting in forums, using free CraigsList, Squidoo, etc, etc and wait for months assuming you are a talented enough writer to attract highly targeted searchers...or you can invest in the proper education for PPC and ROCK YOUR OWN WORLD...

Phew! Community service work is complete for today...

The truth is sometimes stark and unpalatable, but it remains the truth...

Best,

if you are on a tight budget then start with article marketing. PPC can be very tricky if you don't know what you are doing,,

graygoh, if you are at the beginning, meaning you are not making good money yet, do it any way. After a while you can outsource your article writing and anything related to them.

There are article writing wizard programs that writes the draft for you, then you can rephrase it before submiting it. If you have a large volume of articles to write maybe you want to try one of those. Jonathan Leger has one of those programs and he is offering the first month for $7. Not bad as a trial, if you don't feel it's helping cancel it.

I never tried it though, neither the outsourcing, but I know people who outsource their writing.

fbivens, I have been looking at moving into PPC recently. If you don't mind ... what coarse, eBook or other would be your best recommendation to study before venturing in that direction? Thanks for the help.

Hi fbivens,

I agree with some of your sentiment.

However, I wouldn't state any of it nearly as strongly as you have. Some of it is untrue:

fbivens:
Pay-per-click is the only one that creates targeted leads and buyers from targeted searchers.

Untrue, though it is one of many ways.

fbivens:
Only a moron or lazy person will lose money on PPC by either not using daily limits or by misuse of daily limits.

Although I agree that setting limits, and wisely, is a must, experienced PPCers lose on campaigns all the time. Those who first start experimenting on PPC - even if they've done a good amount of research - still lose money at first.

Chalk full of proper theory, it still takes time and experimentation to profit from PPC.

As an aside, I'd like to add that monitoring and tweaking is critical. Many neglect this. After a time it may be more instinctive but split testing, monitoring, and tweaking is still helpful even if done minimally.

fbivens:
In closing, you can keep on writing blogs, articles, posting in forums, using free CraigsList, Squidoo, etc, etc and wait for months assuming you are a talented enough writer to attract highly targeted searchers...or you can invest in the proper education for PPC and ROCK YOUR OWN WORLD...

You seem to be overlooking a few of major benefits of the free methods:

1. Backlinks

2. Free organic traffic - especially once you've accumulated enough backlinks to rank higher for phrases.

3. Virtual real estate and a web presence.

Bottom line it, PPC is a great way to make money after you've attained a reasonable amount of mastery over the fundamental methods first.

Just building a website and tossing PPC at it is skipping out on numerous and valuable opportunities. PPC is more suitable for a middle-game or even as one of the final methods. It's not for anyone below the intermediate level and should never be the only method of driving traffic.

That said, it is a good way to drive targeted buyers.

Thanx for your input,

~Newbie Shield~
