I am new to the home based business arena. I don't know much about marketing my site. Can anyone give me any pointers on sites that offer free or very cheap advertising or ways of attracting people to my site to either play a game or start their own business?

Your best bet is to write some articles at an Ezine such as Ezinearticles.com or start a blog - those are both free methods of promotion.

You can try classified ads like USFreeads and Craigslist or even make a video for Youtube.

Articles are another great way to send traffic.

Forums are good as well. You can get some ideas by visiting

You can write and submit articles free at Ezine articles, Go Articles, etc, (do a google search: free aticle submission), with links back to your site in the author's section of the article. Ezine articles is very effective.

Man these are some great suggestions. I just recently join Traverus and I really need to get to marketing this opportunity. I think I know how I'm going to do it.

Maybe consider kijiji.com, salesspider.com and kickads.com

Posting flyers on any billboard you can find can be effective. Also you might drop off some business cards/holder at businesses/restaurants/doctor's offices that you frequent.

Another method I recently tried is go to a job fair and introduce yourself to some people and start a casual conversation and offer your opportunity or product. Maybe even place business cards on people's car windows.

I use the " 3 foot rule" a lot, anyone within 3 feet of me deserves a business card, within reason. You can use the "sizzle card" that includes just enough info to catch their attention, and direct them to your website or phone number.

Good luck with the new venture.
