Pay per click is the fastest way to get traffic and can really pay off if you know what you are doing.
Article marketing via blogs, social directories, and article directories works best for me and long term traffic because of the search engine rankings I get for various keyword phrases.

Free traffic is nice, but a lot of times, it won't give you the VOLUME of traffic that you would like. If you can find highly targeted keywords, I agree that pay per click advertising is the way to go.

Yes, I agree, free classifieds are the best option , but other Craigslist, most classifieds don't have much traffic

The Bum Marketing Method has really worked for me so far. I saw it recommended on a few other boards. It deals with free traffic and article marketing. It's free and gives great info! Good luck!

It's not really a way TO advertise. But the best form of advertisement is referrals. So build up a good customer base that will spread the word about you and you'll be in great shape. In other words, great customer service is the best way to advertise. Might not be the quickest. But long term effects will definitely be the best.

I know there can be a difference between a good quantity of traffic driven to a website and the quality of traffic that we'd all like driven to our sites.
For the better quality of traffic and not the tire kickers, the rule of thumb seems to be you get what you pay for.
(Who'd have thunk that?  )
Many successful networkers utilize e-zine ads to target the traffic that they want to view their site.
They also might write or submit articles to those same e-zines and others publications, so that same targeted traffic sees their name, contact info and type of biz opp they might be involved in.

I agree with Aaron - most of us already have a network to "advertise" to.
It all goes back to the idealogy that one of the keys to success is to sell or market what you know. Don't try to sell something you wouldn't sell to your family & friends, so why not start with them?
Ditto for any established business contacts you have. Why start with a product or service you're not familiar with, don't understand, and don't already know anyone who wants or needs it?
A mechanic shouldn't expect to be successful selling legal products, and a lawyer can't expect to retire early selling monkey wrenches.
Viraljumpstart, if you're just starting out, investigate the "Free" advertising venues you choose to watch how much traffic they really generate. Remember, "You often get what you pay for"!!

I agree that article writing gets the best targeted traffic, that is if you do the reasearch and find the long-tail keywords that are low competition in Google. You also need to write great content in your articles. Each article needs to be unique. Don't rehash or copy content.
Solve a problem that lots of people are needing help with. Check the forums for what people are talking about and need help with in your niche.

I have to agree with VIRAL JUMP START. The best form of advertising that I tend to use are the Free Classified ads. For 1 there free and they tend to get indexed in the search engines as well. I would Highly recommend Free Classified Ads to help you make money online.

What has worked for me is a healthy combonation of what is written above. I use free classifieds, PPC, paid offline ads (newspapers, magazines etc.) blogs that serve as a companion to my websites, social networks (Facebook, MySpace, You Tube) and to a smaller degree Bum Marketing. The way I look at it is, if there is ANY chance to get word out about my websites, I will use them. The link below is a new site I am having fun with at the moment....kind of fun and addictive too. Also, how you word things in everything you write can be a big help.

There really is no Best way to advertise. Anything has its place and it depends on a variety of factors. I have done well with a variety of ways, and totally flunked some others because had no idea what I was doing when I first got to market my business in a professional way. So it all depends. The most important thing however is the knowledge you have about a certain way of advertising. I have seen people who do extremely well with personal contacting, and others do very well with email marketing, or Web 2.0 marketing etc. etc.
My advice is to find 3 ways that you feel good about and have knowledge on, and become the best in them.

Couldn't agree more with CRJamison. Right on man. When you choose to get good at a certain way of advertising, any adv. will produce results.
But what it comes down to is speaking with people who have an interest either in your product, or someone who is already in a network marketing business and knows the value of it and know what it takes to succeed.

I use my targeted backlink tool and it worked for me... Literally catapulted my small 1 person consultancy into a 730+ professional international consultancy firm... From lil, to HUGE in 9 months... Really amazing indeed. I'd say from my experience, that this is THE best way to go about marketing your business. It's what I came up with... and it worked

With a keen knowledge of how to get your videos seen.
They stay there FOREVER. Each video you create acts as a lifetime asset.
I have videos with over 70,000 views on them and they just keep on getting watched. The more they get viewed, the higher they climb.
I know we all excel and focus on different things. But video has worked very well for me...especially since it's free. I know many people said "PPC". I get my videos to the top of the search engines for free. Right next to guys that are paying 2-5 bucks per click.
I believe PPC can get you volume...but for the money, I am not sure I could consider it a "best" way. Not for me.

Placement targeting!!!
When done correctly you can choose exactly who sees your ads(ie. very highly targetted traffic), you can get extremely inexpensive clicks, sometimes less than $.01, and you can get double digit CTR's.
I have a campaign right now where I'm averaging $.02 clicks and 12% CTR utilizing this method. It is the best ROI I have realized in this business.

well artricles writing work for me and forum. but its funny how marketing online doesnot stay for long. if you remember its was the ffa sites, safe list and now you cannot ever use them. l just hope this one doesnot go down.
