I've lost thousands of dollars in this industry due to what I thought were scams, dont get me wrong there are lots of scams but some good companies get labled scams for the simple fact that the person who joins is not willing to put the effort in that was required. That was my case, i was always trying to take short cuts and it got me no where. This industry is not as easy as people make it seem and that I think is the real scam, but there is money to be made. As long as the company has a real prooduct or service to be offered you can make money. Just takes lots of time and testing.

I have tried a few programs which were about making money with Google Adwords, about a year ago. Some were delivered to me, some were not. And the ones that were delivered didn't have enough information on how to do what they were telling you on their website. They just talked about the subject in general. I believe it is said "beating about the bush" in English. Correct me if I am wrong .

Now, I am not saying every program out there is a scam. But there sure are a lot, and in my time spend on the internet searching for work from home ideas I have spent a lot of money on programs that didn't deliver. I say let's create a post in which we can write about the programs which are working, so the beginners can inform themself about the "good" ones.

I agree that there are legitimate work-at-home websites and that many people that feel like they were scammed just didn't want to put any work into it. They were looking for the get rich quick results.
That being said I want to point out that there are work-at-home sites that are part of organized cybercrime. I read an FBI report that gave an example of someone working for one of these groups thinking it was legit and they were allowing this group to run money into their personal checking account. They were then wiring this money somewhere else. Little did they know that they can be arrested for money laundering even though they are not doing it knowingly.
Don't give out bank or credit card numbers and use common sense.

There are many so called Newbie Internet Marketers that are being guided the wrong way by all these experienced marketers trying to make a sale. This is very frustrating for many and the beginner in the Internet Marketing Business ends up emptying their wallets and only after realize it was for nothing. This article is about how the beginners in the business can avoid these pitfalls and what to look for.
As a newbie I also found myself signing up for many free videos and anything that would allow me to understand how it all works and every single site promised me that it was "the one"that would be the answer to my ever ending search. This is of course all a hoax and at the end of it all,you find yourself, broke, frustrated and a email box full of messages from all these so called sites you gave your email to trying to sell you more stuff, and as you can see this is a never ending dilemma.
Here are some suggestions to avoid these pitfalls:
There are many sites that will allow you access for FREE to get most if not all the information you need to start your online business.
Do your research when you find a site in Google and type in the website name then reviews. There you will find people who will tell you if a site is good or not.
Go to UTube there is soo much information, again for FREE that you can find about anything you need to learn, and usually by the same person asking you to pay for the same information
Also Facebook is a great way to find whatever or whoever your looking for and reading people comments will give you an idea about them and if you should invest.
Ok fellow newbies I hope this helped you in some way. Good luck in your research and your online business!
Your friend in Internet Marketing,
Marian

I started my online business just one month ago. Too many things was saying here for me.
Once I find very good offer to start business, but when I send email with my questions, they didn't unswer.
Asking question is a good method to determine right business offer.

Scams are easy to spot when you know what you're doing.

Obviously, never pay upfront for any "job offer". Know that most of these programs are business opportunities and carry a risk. You should also always make sure to research various companies who do appear legitimate. Doing so will ensure that you know once you're hired on that you'll be paid on time, everytime.

In short, you just have to be smart about it. As long as you do that, you'll be in good shape.

I would like to add something here cause I have had some experience with the work at home thing also... do not always trust someone if they come to you via messenger or email about a job either. Had a gentleman approach me a month ago now about how he read my profile and thought I was a great candidate for working for him in his business and while it took him a week to tell me exactly what I was to do and so on, in that time I was sent two boxes of printed checks with two different company names on and from two different banks, did not really think much about it at the time but then he gave me a list of 101 names in which the checks were to be made out too and how much and also a letter to go into each one.. after 20 checks I read the letter and discovered this guy is a criminal using unsuspecting people to get security information about banks and western union facilities here in the us, and then out of the money the checks were written for they were to wire rest after fees and $300 which they were instructed to keep to someone in the Phillipines and when I played this guy and pretended to be in hospital and as someone else using my computer he did threaten to call FBI and told him to go ahead and do it... but he did not do it, I did call fbi, crimestoppers, the companies on those checks and the banks and found that one of the banks was not open and the account on the check was closed and the other the business has had others call them about the checks too... and even called my local police and when I told this man that I had no money what so ever to pay to mail, print letters and checks and so on he supposedly had $100 wired from the uk to a western union facility which he said could be any one which also send red flag... well in short police and everyone else said to break off all ties and communication with this guy because it is probably from another country and not much can be done about it, but he is taking money from companies here in us... be aware.... I have all document ion on this guy and conversations and so on about this just in case thought I would keep it safe for future date they may need the evidence if it gets prosecuted.

I now carefully check out anyone offering me a work from home job and also if someone tries to add me as a contact that I have not heard of and not aware of ... and will check out jobs that are being offered so I don't wast me time again..

I hope that he gets caught this could get a lot of people into trouble if they take part in this.

Another possible red flag an opportunity might not be legit is if they can't or won't give you information about the company like the name of the company, address and phone number of company and only uses email for contact, can't give you straight information about what the job really is, and you can always check the better business bureau website and see what they have for reports on the companies, ask others who might work for the company, you can ask the company for a few references so you can contact them to see if they are real and worth it too.. learned that from a few job offers and organizations that help find jobs.

After much wasted time and money have learned that you can find great at home work but you should do your research and also make sure what kind of work you expect to find and want to honestly do.

I will once I find where I put my list from a year ago or so I paid a small fee to get a list of real jobs and they were real jobs and will give to the admin here and they can post them if they like. They are good jobs and I do know some people that work for one or more of them and I have contacted several of them myself.
I hope this helps.

There are legitimate work at home jobs but they are hard to find. I've recently entered freebie trading, which can earn good money and prizes. Of course, you have to be careful. There are fraudsters out there. But if you do freebie trading LEGITIMATELY, in other words, use your REAL info and be FAIR, you can earn a substantial amount of money or prizes that you can sell on ebay.

To avoid Internet Marketing scams, there is a Real People Real Reviews website. I used it to check out what others said about an Internet marketer, and/or an Internet marketing product, program or service.

But, why should something which really can earn you $2000/mth be sold for US$47, even at very special short period of promotion time? Think and don't be lured into it. If something which really can earn such good money, then, it should be sold at ... equally high price, right?

Don't try to look for trees which can grow to 10-metre tall from their seeds in less than 1 year. The promoters might even claimed these tree were fed with steroids. Don't listen ... there is no such tree.

One of the key differences between a "job" and a "business opportunity" is the fact that a "job" pays you hourly or by contract. A business opportunity is like starting up your own business... and it can be quite successful, but that is where many of the scams are too.... Often times companies will "require" $500+ upfront for WHAT? Nothing! It's just money that you put right down the drain. So, be VERY careful about what company you are getting involved with. Many companies do not have a risk-free, $ back guarantee -- and it's key to spot that before signing any kind of contract!

Aaron, you have to understand that some people do not want to have to spend money to make money. And you really do not have to with some online jobs. Take paid online surveys for example, for all of the legitimate sites you don't need to pay a dime to register with the companies. and this is not a get-rich-quick scheme either, but like you mentioned, it does take a little time. However, it is definitely worth it.

The key to identifying a scam is seeing whether they have a truly good product. If the company is merely about signing other people up, it's a crappy business. Of course, some companies make it seem like they have a good product when they really don't, so you just need to do research online to see how many people have been successful. With the advent of all these forums and information hubs, there's no reason anybody should get scammed if they perform due diligence.

Watch out folks! Just last week, here in Colorado one of the old scams surfaced it's ugly head again. I heard on the radio someone was scammed out of $2K.

Here is how they do it if you don't recall (it has been around for years). This guy signed up as a secret shopper. He was sent a check for his work BUT, he had to deposit the check and send a fee for his registration. After his check for $2K was cashed, his bank informed him the check he deposited was fraudulent.

I had a check sent to me severaql months ago like this. I took it to my bank and had them verify the check since it was issued out of the same bank. They verified the account was real but someone had sent out these checks fraudulently and they would have all come back on the depositor.

I have been full time working online since 2007. There are no get rich quick schemes with money flying out of your computer.

Learning Internet Marketing at an expert level is the best direction to go if you want to work at home or start a new career. Leverage the power of the Internet to generate leads and sales for your business or your clients business.

We have changed from a Brick and Mortar world to a Click and Order World my friends.

'Brick and Mortar to Click and Order'

Haha! Now that's clever!

I heard an interesting statistic the other day during a HubSpot webinar: Only 4% of people searching online are prepared to buy -the rest (96%) are in 'research mode.'

I don't know if that's true, but I'd say it reflects my 'Click and Order' tendencies pretty well.
