G'day from Down Under

I've been in the Internet marketing business for a whole 4 weeks, and one of the things I've learned really quickly is that I need traffic to get my site functioning.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to generate traffic? Given the nasty exchange rates (I'm in Australia) which wipe out most of my budget, free or low cost ideas would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

Hi Ruth,

If you are low on budget, the best ways to generate long term traffic is by writing articles (related to your industry) and exchanging targeted links.

However, with so many sites on Internet marketing, it's extremely critical to have unique content on your site for you to get incomming links.

You will not see a surge in traffic, but the results are long lasting.

Best wishes,

Hi Ruth,

First of all, welcome to the Internet Business Realm. It's a whole new world out here so please be careful during your journey through cyberspace. I was going to ask if you have your own domain but I am assuming the FreeSiteSetup is the only web site you have, which is an affiliate link... that's okay.

Vishal is right about submitting articles but that is very misleading. Vishal is not putting into consideration that you are NEW. You even said so yourself, you're a newbie and have only been doing this 4 weeks. Of course that was since August so Ruth is in this about 4 months now. Submitting articles usually requires a bit more experience and original content. You don't have to do that.

There are many other ways of generating traffic. As a beginner, you can use traffic exchanges (free), classified ads, opt-in emails, paid-email campaigns, newsletter, solo ads and more. Your ability to promote your business multiplies when you have your own domain so do consider getting one. I don't have all the time in the world to explain the steps but you can simply visit my site for free articles and reviews on business opportunities. It may perhaps help you familiarize with how things work online.

Hi Ruth,

Easiest and most effective way to drive traffic to your site is to use hitexchanges, these are free and whilst they may not get you that many sales, if you use a lead capture page, they can be fairly effective. Also signup for a few good ezines as you'll get free advertising through them.

Check out my site below for lists of hitexchanges and to subscribe to my ezine.

Feel free to email me with an ad to place on my site for free.

Rachel
