WordPress Database Backup
Set it to email you a copy, hourly, daily, or weekly so you have an offsite back up.

 

This is really great, I added a bunch of these and my site is faster already (WP cache)

I prefer using my seo software rather than Platinum SEO plugin from WP.. what do you guys think? anyone here really relies on a wp plugin to do your seo??

Possibly the most important yet most overlooked SEO activity.

 

Add another to my list...
"Image Widget"
It lets you put a photo in the sidebar and link it to wherever,
with or without captions and descriptions (hover).

I'm using it for CafePress items I want to highlight.
(CafePress widget doesn't let you choose which item to show)

My absolute favorite theme is the Thesis Theme as it is easy to customize and SEO friendly. Even Matt Cutts of Google uses the Thesis theme for his blog.

Oh, a world without Plugins

 

I use a lot of plugins as does everyone else but these are my faves:

Akismet - stopping spam (must have)
nRelate - show related posts/thumbnails below post (increases time on site and decreases bounce rate)
addThis - social bookmarking widget (can add with code anywhere in post and above/below post)
hRecipe - recipe-formatted plugin for a kitchen site I own
Pinterest PinIt Button for Images - adds a Pinit button to all images when you hover over it
WP Smush.it - compresses images for enhanced performance

 

I like SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2

 

All time favorite is SEO by Yoast!
Followed very closely with XCloner

It´s always important to make sure your website/blog complies with current law so I recommend the Cookie Law Info plugin.

 

Wordpress has certainly come a long way over the past 5, hell, even 2 years. The plugins make it. SEO Yeost for sure - essential.
