I tried paid surveys and found that my return was to low for the time invested. I know that the first few months are rough but I just couldnt stick with it. As others were saying, there are legitimate programs out there but for the most part you are at high risk at ending up with a scam
I have been making from taking surveys for the last 2 years, I don't recommend quitting any day jobs but I have been making a decent amount just as extra cash.
The majority of paid survey companies pay in sweepstakes entries or gift certificates. However, a fair number of them pay in cash (albeit sometimes in points that, once you hit a given threshold, can be redeemed in cash). It takes due diligence and patience. You really have to join a big number of survey companies to make it potentially pan out, in cash. Of course, don't expect to get rich. Don't book the year long vacation to the Bahamas, just yet!
happygal: Oh, no, you see, I disagree completely. I don't want to try to "be" the person they are looking for. I think it's more important to be honest about who I am and what my purchasing habits are, etc. than to qualify. happygal, if you want to be honest with the survey companies its your choice, but concider this: if the survey company publishes a survey about Nike shoes and targets it to Males 24+ YOA located in UK and you are 23 YOA and live in USA, you think your answers will be different? So if you are looking to EARN some extra money from taking on-line surveys AND get your opinion heard, you may use the info I put on my blog for each survey eligibility conditions. Don't be so picky, just take them, be honest and get paid.
If you can do better than paid survey, choose that instead. Paid surveys isn't worth the time. If you can write an article for 30 mins. better be a writer.
Most people say that you cant make money with Paid surveys but I think that is totally wrong ! I use it since one week ago and I make around 20-30$ each day just doing 6-7 surveys. So it is great if you want to make decent money if you ask me
Actually, I don't like Paid Survey since waste my time. If you interested to ask question & give your opinion, Paid Survey is great opportunities. Just to be carefully to some paid surveys which needed fee registration, sometimes they just give a database of company which can paid you, It means not direct survey. I prefer to free registration. Just make more research before join a paid survey site.
getagrip: A few years ago, I spent hours and hours and hours signing up with paid surveys companies, and only earned $5... Lol
OK, so I signed up at a lot of survey sites. I work full-time 5 days a week and come home and do surveys for hours and hours after work. I've gotten a few chances for higher-paying surveys but----surprise! I have to buy something, sign up for a lot of sites I'm already signed up for or sites that I don't want, give a credit card # for something, or agree to give out my phone # and be responsible for all charges if I get whatever free thing I want to try out ( i.e. lap-top computer, phone, etc.). I've only been doing this for about three or four weeks. Does it get better? Can I get higher paying surveys and get paid just for doing the surveys? I don't really know how much I've made so far but it's not much.
Hello All, I tried surveys before I got into online affiliate marketing, and they are a waste of time! In my opinion, you could work a part time job making minimum wage and make more money more frequently than with surveys. Each site I tried had you fill out so much personal information (which, I understand, is how they target which people to send which surveys to) that it takes about 45 minutes before you can even start filling out surveys! And that is per survey site. I signed up for at least 20 sites (all of which were free) and took the time to fill out my personal information (such as my interests and what I know a lot about). It takes forever to make any money with these, and I gave up after a couple of months because whenever I was sent a survey, I'd check the e-mail and by the time I got home from school or work, the survey had closed - they had had enough people for the survey. Not worth it. And frustrating. But if someone finds something out there that works, props to you!
Taking surveys is good for additional income, maybe a few hundred dollars a month but you won't be able to quit your day job for sure.
momofbats: I have read many posts from this and other forums of many, many people who make decent money from surveys and research groups. I signed up with 60!!!! And can't see how I will ever make the minimum to cash out of any of them. I never seem to qualify for anything, and the few that I did were for measly dollars that I can't get until I build up to $25 - $50! UGH!!! Any tips or ideas? (although, I thought I read them all). It sounds like you are not signing up to the right survey panels.
Getagrip, I'm with you.. I have never been able to make more than about 11 or 12 bucks a month for spending a lot of hours doing surveys. no thanks
Yep yep yep, Waste of time Main ploys to get you to allow companies to spam you legally. The way to make money with surveys is by telling newbies they can earn a living by doing surveys and then selling them manuals. Or doing CPA for survey sites, I suppose. At any rate, it's nothing I would ever do, since I look for win / win and not win / lose The one site that I think is legit is survey savvy No spamming They tell you up front my might make 3 a survey And they have 2 tiers below you, so conceviably, you could make money if enrolled enough active surveyers. But if you are that good at getting referrals, you should find something people can actually make money on and refer people there. Bottom line, you are better off clicking ads for pennies, hoping the site pays you before they shut down, than you are doing paid surveys. (And you should never click ads for pennies...heh) Learning skills and putting time in and not giving up is the only way to go.
I get surveys sent to me which make me about $3 a survey - for about 10 minutes of my time. That means I'd have to work 6.5hrs a day, 5 days a week, to make atleast 30k/yr. Thats not my idea of making money while being able to vacation often. LOL. Personally, surveys are too time consuming, and boring for me. I get bored after the first minute. Look into online business opportunites - market a product, business or service online. There are tons of free ways to market yourself and your site online. I haven't spent a dime to market my opportunity. I'd recommend finding a company where you will be mentored personally. Goodluck!
