Hi Jeri, my name is Bobbi Brown. I have been looking for quite a while for a "real" work at home opportunity as I am disabled and unable to work outside the home. Could you possible help or direct me as to how to do the "rebate processing" like you are doing.

Thanks!
Bobbi

Hi,
I was almost sold on the process at home buisness becasue of the attached ad. They claim to have tested home buisnesses and say "process at home" tested the best overall. Now after reading this forum, I'm not so sure. Please check out this link and tell me what you think. THanks!

Visited many forum sites like these and the same thing is repeated. WE all want to earn money online with legit jobs with minimal or no investment. THE QUESTION IS, WHO IS KIND AND GENEROUS ENOUGH TO SHARE THAT INFORMATION WITH US.I am positive that there are thousands of persons who make a substantial income working from home and started with little or no investment. PLEASE IF ONE OF YOU READ THIS- HELP US FIND THE SITES THAT YOU USE- IT would do your heart some good and you will be blessed, we would be so grateful.
THIS IS LONG - BUT READ - IT'S WORTH IT!!!
I have been searching for almost 2 years now. I joined Data Entry business, which is legit. But the catch is you have to PAY PER CLICK. Meaning you pay more money with Google adwords. The catch is knowing the best companies to write ads for that will make money and make you money in turn. You may need to invest about $200 USD minimum. When persons click on your ad, you are charged from 10cents up. Imagine if you have 100 ads running at 10cents each, and you get 2000 clicks each per day. That means 2000 clicks at 10 cents per click = $200/day. You do the math- that's allot of money to spend, with the hope that persons buy the products you advertise.
SO IF THERE ARE OTHER SYSTEMS ON THE NET THAT REQUIRE LOW LOW INVESTMENT I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW! THANKS ALOT.

LUCIA

I have been looking for a work from job for at least 10 years, due to my disability. In all of that time I have been employed by two companies, one of which has gone out of business. I can just about spot a scam from 10 miles away. Believe me the rebate processing job is a scam, work from home jobs are generally the lowest paying jobs around , because there is such a demand for them, and the competition from overseas, where people will work for 2 dollars an hour. If you are looking for a customer service or call center job, they are much easier to find, if you go to my blog you will find a very small list of legitimate jobs, I am working on adding more, you have to scroll down a little bit.. If anybody says you are going to make thousands of dollars a week, much less a day , and they ask for a fee, you bet it is scam. There is only one legitimate company that I am aware of that asks for a fee, so if you are asked for a fee, run for the hills. If you go to a web site and it does not have a way to contact them, it's a scam, if you go to a web site and it does not list a physical address, it's a scam. Always check with BBB, even if you do and they is not listed, that does not mean it is not a scam, going to the BBB is just the first step in a weeding out process.

When you see ads like this, use your logical reasoning, why would a rebate company pay you 15 dollars, to process a $9.95 rebate. Why would a rebate company pay you 15.00 dollars to process any rebate. It is ridiculous, processing a legitimate rebate probably takes at the very most 5 minutes. Any ad that says you are going to make tons of money for very little work , and requests a fee, is a SCAM. If you don't mind speaking on the phone, their are quite a few legitimate companies out there. I have listed a few of them on my blog. I actually got a job at one of them, they even paid for training, I decided the job was not for me, and if I ever make some decent money, I am going to pay them back for the training. If you are interested the company is called West at Home, you can either go to my blog and get the link or type West at Home in the google search engine. What ever you decide, good luck, it is extremely difficult to find a legitimate data entry job.

www.workathomeagent.com.

Ran by a LARGE telemarketing company home officed in Omaha Ne. Completely legit, as I used to support the workathome platform for them.

You are not an employee for West, but a contractor. You answer incoming calls for products you see on TV. You enter the customers information into your computer (connected to West over the internet) and you make money PER MINUTE that you are on the phone with a customer. Flexible hours, and I remember some PREMIUM hours (when they expected high call volume) to pay up to .25 cents per minute on phone.

You have to complete a training course online and pass a set of tests to become an agent for them. They have a set of strict rules regarding your shifts.. if you sign up for it, you need to be logged in. couple times missing a shift and your finished working with them.

I have never worked for workathomeagent, but again I have supported it and know it exists and it's 100 percent legit.. no money down.. Just have to put some of your own time into the training at first.

I do not work for west any longer and am not affiliated with them in anyway. I just see a lot of people that appear to REALLY want a work at home solution that is not a scam. Thought I would point ya in this direction.

Broadband internet and a standard voice phone line required for use.

West will transfer phone calls to your house by using your phone number in their system, and at the same time you are connected to their system over the internet to enter the callers information.

CYA!

Lucia, the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people looking to make money from home with little or no investment, and almost all you find offered is get-rich-quick schemes should tell you something.

Yes, there are many people who work at home and do well, but not from an ad they got in an e-mail, or from a site that offers wonderful riches like Data Entry Business.

They found a niche they were both interested in and good at, and found a way to make it work for them. They did not search for a product and say, "Maybe I'll sell that!" They spotted a need and filled it.

I have found that very legitimate jobs can be found at Ignotius [Affiliate link removed - Admin] and very good home business ideas, help and guidance can be found at Bizymoms [Affiliate link removed - Admin].

Both have free information and low fees, should you decide to buy anything. Both have money-back guarantees but be sure to read the fine print as there is a time limit, etc., and Ignotius rebates your sign-up fee back into your Ignotius account.

No you won't get rich and retire to a tropical island, but with hard work you can support yourself without dealing with the daily commute and all that.

hi,
have done work for national-in-store and another company by the name of DSG. national-in-store paid me over $400 during the Christmas holiday for handing out flyers at wal-mart regarding xm radio and even paid me for the guy who didn't show up on the week i had asked for (i worked the last day only of his shift). Boy did the money come in handy and there's always work with these guys and depending on what you can do...you're in control and pick out the ones that fit you and they even give you the pay rates and you decide!

Good luck!

I don't know how long it has been since you worked for them, but now, you are hired as an employee. Which means West deducts taxes from your check, they have direct deposit, they must pay at least minimum wage, which they do, unless your call volume is more than minimum wage. After going through the training, I have new respect for the people that answer those calls to process orders from the TV ads. I just decided that it is not something I could do well. Me and JohnnyG don't get a thing out of this, other than pointing people to a legitimate company, so if you are comfortable on the phone and have the required equipment, it is worth checking out. http://apply.westathome.com/faq.asp

Thank you everyone for letting me know that Angel Stevens, "Processathome.com" is a scam. I've been thinking about this for a couple of days after I received her email and I almost bought into it! I'm always very skeptical about those things and try to check it out with the BBB or at least Google it to see if anyone has gotten scammed from such a site. Thanks so much for the info!

I paid the $197 and requested the refund per email as stated in Angel Stevens ad. I have not received either an email or refund as of this date.
I will let you all know if and when I do.

If you really want to do something about this, I suggest you file a complaint with the BBB, so that other people will see that this is a scam. More importantly I suggest you file a complaint with the FTC, so that legal action can be taken, and possibly, thought doubtfully, you might get some money back. If every time some one is scammed by one of these people and or companies we file a complaint with the FTC, perhaps we can at least decrease the number of scams going around and maybe even throw some of there sorry buts in jail. If you want to file a complaint with the FTC, here is the link. https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup
If you want to do telephone work there are quite a few jobs, out there, if you want to do data entry work, they are very, very, very, extremely difficult to find, I have been searching for data entry jobs for 10 years and have only found 4 that I think are legitimate, one I got a job with, unfortunately they went out of business in October, and the other three have a long waiting list. Good luck everybody, especially those looking for data entry jobs.

Hi Jauzins,

Do they ever have typing jobs that you can do at home.?That's what I'm looking for. But everywhere I look, I can tell its a scam. Are there any typing jobs at home that aren't a scam? How did you get a job typing manuscripts for Authors? I wouldn't mind doing that. I also already have a part-time job working at the schools. But its only 3 1/2 hours a day. I need more hours. I love to type but its hard to find a job in this area. I'm pretty sure my husband is disappointed in me for not finding a full time job. I used to live in California and worked for large ins. companies. I loved it but then we moved to a different state and its been hard for me ever since. The town is small and not alot of opportunity. I don't need to sound like this, but he always mentions Wal-Mart. I don't want to work there. It's a 24-hour a day store and I'd get the Graveyard shift because I'd be new. I've talked to alot of the workers there. Many have quit because they say you don't get treated good. I'm 55 and I did those kinds of jobs..Graveyard shifts, etc. I love working in the schools but need more hours. I like working 8:00-5:00, weekends off. I have two daughters in college and when they come home for the weekends, I enjoy visiting with them. Anyway, if you could give me some information on typing at home, I'd appreciate that.

Hi!!! Anything that you have to pay up front like that is a scam. When you go to a regular job, do they charge you to work? No they don't. If it's a legit job, you should never have to pay anything.

I have been looking for a legitimate typing or data entry job that I can do from home, for many years and in all that time, I managed to work for one company, that has since gone out of business. Do you have any transcription experience, if you do there are some legitimate jobs out there, I could point you in the right direction, if you are interested. If you don't mind talking on the phone, there are quite a few legitimate jobs out there, I could help you with also. Good luck.

The typing at home offers are not a scam, but neither are they anywhere as easy as they want you to believe. If you want work typing for authors and other similar typing, type "freelance work" into a search engine. You will have lots of offers to bid on. You bid on how much you are willing to accept to do the job posted. The job poster accepts a bid - not necessarily the lowest, especially once you build a reputation - and the winner gets the job.
Sounds like just what you might be looking for!

Believe me advertised typing jobs are SCAMS. You may possibly get a freelance job, but again they are extremely difficult to come by. A freelance web site I use, is called Guru.com. They do quite often offer data entry and typing jobs. However I have bid on about fifty of them at least, and even offered to do some of them for free, just so I could get positive feedback, and I have yet to get a returned message, and have not even come close to getting a job, so believe me if all you want to do is type, you are going to have a very difficult time. Why don't you ask familymoses where she got a legitimate job, and be very wary. The typing at home home offers are very much a SCAM.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree about the various "typing at home / data entry" offers. They teach affiliate marketing, which is a very simple concept, but oh, so NOT easy. However, that does not make them scams. If you sent them money and they sent you NOTHING, that would be a scam.

Anyway, if Guru.com isn't working for you, try something else. There are many other freelance sites out there. I just now entered "freelance jobs" (without the quotes) and came up with over 2,000,000 hits.

You got that right we agree to strongly disagree. Your interpretation of a scam is incorrect. I am not going to get into it, but have joined some of these scams and they are SCAMS and they to always sends something, but it teaches you how to scam other people, that is a scam, not only is it a scam, it is illegal. Please just mention one single typing job that is not a scam, and I will check it out. Never, ever pay a fee up front for a job. Freelance jobs are a whole different thing, there are some legitimate freelance jobs, but they are very difficult to get, and it is extremely rare that some one can make a living at them, typing jobs anyway. Graphic design, web administrators , you can make a living at those kind of jobs, but to make a living at typing or data entry , you need to be employed, or contracted. you can type work at home into the google search engine and get 222, 000,000 hits, so what, they are probably all scams.

The "typing at home / data entry" offers that I have seen never pretend to be "jobs." They teach you how to place AdSense-type ads for your choice of affiliate products. Many of them give advice as to which products sell well, and give you screen shots of how to write the ads. They tell you right on the sales page they are "better than a real job." While that may not be true for everyone, some people do get the hang of it and are able to make it work quite well for them.

Yes there is a very steep learning curve, and no, everyone won't be successful. I probably wouldn't be successful, but that does not make it a scam. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't be successful doing. No one is suited for everything, affiliate marketing included.

The envelope stuffing thing IS a scam. You send $5 to someone who then tells you to get other people to send you $5 so you can tell THEM how to Get people to send THEM $5 . . . . . . I can't believe Google still accepts those ads.

Anyway, if you have already decided that all two million plus hits for freelance jobs / assignments are scams, then there really is no point in you looking for anything.

Gem055 was looking to type up authors' notes and that kind of thing. If she is a fast and accurate typist I'm sure she will start to land jobs once she applies.

For anyone out there that is trying to find out if a site is legit, then go to www.ripoffreport.com and simply type in the name of the site and see if anyone has been scammed. I've been saved many times by that site so far.

Typing at home jobs are scams gem055, but if you want to check it out, that is your business, just be very careful. I suggest to go to the FTC and BBB websites to get information. As for Adsense and how to use , and the best way to use it, you can get free information on that. As for what to sell, you need to find something you are passionate about and find a niche, you will still be lucky if you make decent money at it. Most of those freelance hits are for sites where you can sign up for freelance jobs, and most of them may be legit, but if you get a job at one of them, I'll eat my hat, if you do decide to go that route, I would like to know how it works out for you, good luck. Tell one person I can contact that got the hang of it, and worked out quite well, that I can contact and they can tell me how they did it.
