It happened all at once, at about 7:50PMcst. I think only people logged in on Citrix at that time would have been affected. Also, it could have only been on one Citrix server and not all of them. So, it could have only been a few people or everyone working at that time. What happened is some box popped up that said something about the server was going to switch to another one. I was only just beginning to read it when all West programs crashed instantly to desk top (and were impossible to restart) and a bunch of pop up ads for wrestling, Sprint phones, and anti virus programs started appearing all over the screen using IE. The computer then started restarting itself several times as this virus was installing itself into registry. By doing that it was making sure that even if you could find and delete infected files it would simply reinstall on the next boot up. It would be virtually impossible to kill short of reformatting and reinstall the hard drive. That is what I had to have done to my machine. I'm taking a guess that the PAL line wasn't answered for hours after that because the Pals had to actually take customer calls after some or all the agents were dumped from Citrix.

As far as the virus name, that is unknown. It populated several different viruses at once uses shell names (names that would change each time the virus reinstalled itself after being deleted). In other words it was one big virus that installed a bunch of little viruses all at the same time, and then reinstalled them if deleted. It also attached itself to every thing that you opened. Even if they were jpegs or word documents. So, nothing could be saved from the hard drive and put back on after reformatting the drive without also reinstalling the virus.

And yes, nine out of ten times I get a call and have to hit # in order to get the system to allow me at the beginning of a shift.

Good Grief!!
I think they should have to pay for it if it came from citrix, not everyone could fix their own computer and if if they could you are loosing time and money.

Hi eber3
I was working Saturday at the exact same time and had the same thing happen to be I tried so hard and all night to get in touch with a PAL but was unable to .I did not have a clue what happened and was really afraid to try to fix it myself because it is only a few months old and did not want to take any chances.I called a friend who knew a friend who worked on computers and he came first thing this morning it was a virus of course if I could have paid more he said he may have been able to tell the name and perhaps prove that it came from Citrix I never mentioned Citrix to him so he must have found something and knew thats where it came from, it cost me $350.00 the Geek Squad said it would have been even more . This is not fair I can not afford to dish money out like that I wish there was something we could do I have two little ones at home and that money was for coats. I had other hours on there but was unable to work which means all my scores will go down, because PAL would not answer . Another employee who lives in Florida I just called him he said same thing happened to him.

Have you worked any since the virus? I was looking at the trades and noticed that some shifts are .17 per minute and some .19, I know they offer higher pay for certain hours sometimes but this was the same time same day Tues 1am-1:30am what is that? did they offer a bonus I don't know about for working that time?

I was a victim of the virus Saturday ,I am a single Mom of 3 oldest is seven it cost me $325 to get my computer fixed I restored and reinstalled windows but I had to end up" calling computer fix it" plus I am out the hours that I had scheduled for the rest of that night my performance has now gone down . That money was to pay for grocery's and my electric bill . I tried to contact PAL but never got an answer .The virus was connected to Citrix I told W*st to see if maybe they would help pay a small fraction but they said they have no ideal what I'm talking about . I looked around to see if anyone else had the same and found this forum.Unlike VM I need every penny I make .I don't have a clue what I am going to do now with putting out the extra money and now pay is short due to not being able to get on.

No I haven't worked since then. I missed several hours and when I finally got an answer on the PAL line I had them post all my hours until Wednesday. I'm giving them a nice big chance to fix the problem before I go back. So, I'll find out early Wednesday morning.

Maybe I will have my logins by then, I may wish I hadn't got them if the virus continues.

RO,
Hey girl!!! I did call a pal and I got read that it could take two weeks or more to get your logins... It shows up on the next pay statement that they paid me for it so I am assuming they know I took it.

Thanks vagabond. Unfortunately I had a very stressful shift. The Oracle went down and I had to take manual orders. This really pissed off the people calling in. One lady got mad and hung up on me because I asked her how to spell a last name, it was Olleulee or something like that. I can only guess it is Hawaiian or something, even though she was calling from NC. Can't imagine why I wouldn't know how to spell that name. Then she called back a few minutes later and threw a fit because she had to read her CC number to me. "It's already on file!" she screamed, despite the fact that I'd already explained the situation four times to her. She then demanded my last name so she could "call up and report you in the morning. You really suck and should be fired!". Ugh.

I have not got my logins yet but I can tell it is going to be fun!! Earlier today I got an e-mail saying we MUST give the testimonial script to every caller unless they were angry, later I got one saying the testimonial transfer was not working and not to transfer anyone.
I can hardly wait!!

How about the email today saying that auto logging was back in place, so "DON'T hit the log call button. We are working on having it removed from ADE." Followed two hours later by, "Auto log has been disabled, make sure you manually log your calls to avoid high wrap times."

Well it has been three weeks to the day since I took the webinar and I still have not got my logins. I called (again) and today I was told that they have my login but are waiting on my password. Is it just me?

Vagabond,

I'm sorry to hear you status...I am however, a disappointed I can't believe that everytime I try to get hrs on spectrum all I get is hrs available to work late nights or early morning! wats up with that! they should of mentioned that in the training and if they did I missed that part! Oh well there was only one time I remember to have logged in and saw hrs throughout the day...but it was only 2hrs I think 10am-12pm and boy that was taken in seconds with the blink of the eye. I am not going to struggle and be on the computer on/off waiting for hrs that I might missed anyway if I need to do something. I'ts quite pathetic and I'm way too busy for this crap. I apologize to anyone that feels differently but this skill is not for me. I have not been able to get descent hrs and I cannot work late hrs because I have too much going on. Good luck and keep me posted. I do have your number and have not forgotten am quite busy with studies/family etc...but believe me I'll surprise you soon by calling you. I have decided to resigned from the skill see if I get another offer with better availability if not well, I am busy working with babytobee.com and despite what people say I happen to like it quite it bit. Like all jobs it has is up and downs but the money is great! Loving that part!

I have noticed they don't have many hours also. But they keep sending e-mails saying we need you to work, even one today saying they had raised the pay to .21 per minute but I did not see it on spectrum. I do know that pro flowers is starting up and they have been sending out surveys for people that want to work recurring hours, so you should be offered that soon. I still have it but I hated it so I doubt I will be working it too much, on the other hand I may have to because it doesn't look like I am going to be doing nbc anytime soon.

It seems like I applied for the babytobe thing once, but I am not sure because sometimes I go through this phase and apply for everything and then can't remember what, if I did I never heard from them.

Looking forward to hearing from you until then enjoy life, its too short not to.

All the hours I've gotten have been for the late evening or the middle of the night. The only day time hours I've ever seen posted were for Saturday and Sunday. The must be giving some people first pick of hours before posting because, outside of a half hour here or there, they have never listed day time hours for the weekdays.

yeah, and you see that's just it I don' t have time to sit my budd in front of my comp waiting for hrs to be posted! It would be too frustrating the idea is pitiful. I have decide to resigned will do today...as for proflowers I don't have that skill anymore I had resigned from that a while ago. Is seasonal so does not work for me either. Umm vagabond babytobee.com are always hiring and believe they are interviewing now so if you want to apply let me know i will send you the email address for them. I am really busy so remind me otherwise, I will forget. I did send you that info a while back...Eber just so you know at the training for babytobee there were two guys doing orientation with me so, it's not just all women doing this job there many guys doing it too.

RO,
I know you sent it thats why I thought I applied. Honestly, some days I can't remember my own name and God forbid someone ask me my phone number, how am I supposed to know that?? I don't call myself!!

Maybe I applied and they didn't like me or maybe I didn't apply and thought I did, if you get a chance send me the e-mail again and I will see what is what, normally I save all those things but I had a bit of a computer problem a while back and lost some stuff.

RO,
What do you know about tele-tech? I got an e-mail advertisement from them and I know I have looked at the site before and possibly applied but I honestly don't remember what happened.

Vagabond,

Teletech is legit work from home customer service (imbound). I had an interview with them passed the comp test and all. But turn them down because It is mandatory to work weekends for them. I think minimum work hrs is 25 if I remember what was said at the interview. You are hired as an employee and heard is extremely busy and the starting rate is 9hr or 9.50 somethink like that...that's all I can remember right now. As for babytobee I will be sending you the info to you and Eber tonight k..
