Ro,
Thanks, you are like my own personal cheer leader!! I can still get on the sight and I still have proflowers (for what thats worth) I never really worked it either but its still there. I am telling myself that it is for the best and soon I will be offered a wonderful skill that I love ( I don't really believe myself as I have been know to lie to me before) but it sounds good. Sorry about the babytobee, I am sure you will find something better and when you finish your MT you won't have to worry about this crap anymore.

How long did it take to get your log-in codes? I did my Webinar on November 6th. I have called several times and that gets me nowhere.

Vagabond,

I feel a little better got the points at babytobee am getting better at it and finally working more hrs...is getting easier. So, i do suggest maybe you should give a try cause if you think about it you work 10hrs a week a 10hr then if in that week you make your points you can work as many hrs as you want and will get paid 13hr...so overall it weighs out and is more than what i was getting with wst. hope that helps.

RO,
So you really only HAVE to work 10 a week? Then you can work more if you like or of you are good enough right? The only thing that worries me (only because I don't know anything about it) is the independent contractor part, I don't know the rules and tax laws on that stuff and am a little paranoid, although I have done it as a mystery shopper but the money from that was not enough to cause me any concern.

Vagabond,

This will be the first year i will have to deal with irs independent status so, I've yet to find more info which I'm doing now. I've save all my bills/reciepts for deductions purposes...however will not have more info until I go file. As far as I'm concerned it's worth the shot I mean if you were to have another wahj that pays you more they would deduct taxes anyway. It is different requires responsibility on your side but I see it this way. Regardless, independent contractor/employees status I'm aiming to earn more money and if babytobee pays more than I'm willing to take the responsibilty. I can give you more details once I'm done with the filing k...as far as working hrs yes you start with the minimum of 10hrs 100weekly but on the second week I was able to make the required points that allow me to work all the hrs I want 13hrs...by far more than what I've gotten paid in any other wahj right now...and the more hrs you work the better you get at it so you won't go back to the minimum 10hrs and if you do not make the points in one week...you make it the next and you can work all you want. It does balances out. I love it now that I understand how it works...
Hope this helps.

I am in the process of completing the Shop NBC training. I just want to know if the hours available have improved for this skill or not.

I would like to know this as well. There are plenty of hours right now. For the pay I am averaging about $13.50 an hour. But I expect it will be a lot less than that after the holidya. I just hope I can still get the hours I need.

i am with you - would like to keep it around 300-350 a month to pay off some bills. just wondering if that is fesible - i have a full time job and usually work a couple of hours a night a few times a week and then a bunch on the weekend but i already don't see any hours for the weekend so i was worried and didn't know if it was premature to feel this way

I usually don't grab my shifts early. On the weekends I pick them up the day before. It seems like that is when they add the guarantee rates and the higher per min rates. I just take my chances on getting shifts. You can always pick up trades they are always available for about any hour. Sometimes I just grab them about 15 min before the shift.

huh? I will have to try that - i have been trying to schedule the times and getting pissed when i get screwed when higher guaranteed rates come up and i have already scheduled myself. your plan seems to be working out better than mine...

Yeah...why pick up a 17Cent per min shift when 9 times out of 10 you can pick it up that day on a trade. I would definately wait if you plan on working Christmas. I bet they will give decent rates b/c it still has so many shifts available. They typically come out with the better rates the night before or early that morning.
One problem with picking up trades is you can't see if it had a guar rate or not. The person may have scheduled the shift before they posted the guar rate.
Did you work on Sunday with the $15hr rates?

yeah I did - i was told that if there is a guaranteed rate of 15/hr that applies to everyone. it is when they only have increased per min rate that applies only to those that pick up shifts.

I have called 10 times on the whole guar and per min rate issue. I keep getting a different answer almost everytime.
I was told that if you grab a shift before the guar rate is up then you do not get the guar rate. That goes for the per min rate increases as well. They told me if they decide to make a shift with a guar and you already scheduled yourself you should dump the shift and re-schedule.
I wish there was a manual explaining it. Whatever SNBC is doing is for their benifit.

Yeah it took me about 35 days to get my codes. I totally forgot everything and had to refresh on all of my training. After my webinar I was feeling pretty confident about starting. But, after making me wait a month before I could actually work I started to get really nervous and felt really un-prepared.
My first shift was hell. I was late to my shift b/c my codes didn't work. Of corse, I didn't have any calls that were just quick ordering. It was stuff I didn't know yet or just forgot how to do. The next day I did a lot better. I am still no pro but I feel comfortable. My ALC is still high. I still do not see how anyone can take a call that is under 270 seconds. I guess if your call never asks a question. I am one of the unlucky ones that never gets the hang ups that quickly brings your ALC down.

thanks for the response. wow...i thought it would be more like 2 wks b4 getting the login.

are you having difficulty getting hours? i have seen several people on the posts state it is difficult to get hours. is that still the case?

i guess i won't get my login until january '09. hopefully by then there will still be hours available.

is anyone else finding that training wasn't all inclusive - i don't remember being told to read back ss# and dob for credit apps. i am getting dinged on this for performance review and only getting one review in a week b/c i don't work longer than a four hour shift. can anyone give me any help so i don't loose my job - i like the job and really want to keep it - in dec had a pin for not reading back all of the ship to address when it was different evenn though it was on file and that gave me a 80% and now this one another 80% for just not repeating ss# and dob - any help would be appreciated - thank you!!

Just make sure to repeat all new info after they give it. If they give you an address that is already on file make sure you say, "ok, I have that address on file." That way anybody reviewing that call will know you didn't actually type that info in.

Ro & Vagabond,

Don't know if you are still reading this thread, but if you are I'd like to ask you about ProFlowers. I was just offered that as my second skill, do you have any info or experience about that skill?

I was offered proflowers as a second skill today as well. I went ahead and took it. I think they might only be open for calls from 7am-7pm.
I figured I would train and check it out.

Eber3,

Hey how are u? no...I don't have proflowers any longer resigned from that skill a while ago...In fact, I still with west but do not have any skill active at this time. I am awaiting an offer and hope it comes soon. I do remember proflowers I though it was relatively, easy but it is seasonal and the hrs go quickly (that should not be news to you by now lol ). the skill is very simple and you should have no problem with the tests.

Well I accepted ProF but couldn't start my training until Monday. I already had forty hours of SNBC scheduled for this week. That was two days ago, today I logged on and there were no hours showing for the ProF training. After looking into it further I found out on the training page that I was "terminated-eligible for rehire". I guess they over filled the skill and bumped me because I hadn't started training yet. What a load of crap.

That is sucky.
Do you know how many skills you can have at once. Will they offer other ones if you already have two skills?
The Proflowers training is super easy so far. Sorry they terminated it for you.
Do you really work 40 hours a week with shop? Holy Cow..I am lucky to get 10 hours. I get over it really fast. I had a lady last night that changed her mind over and over. The call lasted 30 min. So much for keeping my ALC down.
